I think that, on my own forum, two or three of the die hard members (about 75) actually smoke pot...

Same thing with sex, regulated prostitution may be legal here, but you sure are a lot more open about sex than most people are here.

You'll have to take my word for that.

It does. But that may be the danger. You don't want to have to depend on drugs. At least I know I don't want to.

And of course there's more than two or three groups, I just wanted to point out that in the coffeeshop itself, you don't really want to be to socialize. Not "your kind" of people there. At least not in the Netherlands

I'm a couple of hundred yards away from Germany here. When I scream really hard, the Germans can hear me. I'm about 4 miles away from Belgium.

We have Ernesto's, which attracts a lot of good ska and reggae bands.
And there's a lot of little festivals here.

This is MUSIC Banter. Drugs, Sex and Music in most cases go hand in hand. Generally, people are a lot more open on the Internet. I know that most people in real life don't share as much as...let's say "The Sexual Experience Thread," or this one.

Have you been to Amsterdam?

I do know the difference between Internet and real life.
I'm pretty experienced in that. I actually know most of my friends from the internet.
Sounds pathetic, but I don't mind. It's hard to find good people and with the Internet they're at your fingertips.

Eitherway, everyone who's here regularly is a music addict. I don't have much friends who are not complete music nutters.
I do go to concerts, I do go to festivals.. And still, believe me, I've never been to a place were drugs were so easily discussed. It's stunning. I like it.

hopefully my friends and i will be driving to the dam at somepoint next year. Sitting in a cafe openly smoking grass is dreamy. I hate the secrecy and taboo over here. I never say to new people i meet i do drugs because then youre automatically frowned upon. Cocaine is much more frowned upon than grass, naturally.

Cocaine is frowned upon everywhere. It's cool you are going, without a doubt am I going. I'd really like to celebrate 4/20 overthere. Usually, I don't smoke that day because I am not one to go with tradition. But a huge gathering of people, with free joints being tossed around! I'm in.

sounds like a rather awesome day to be honest. I think id try and handle normal amsterdam first. Cocaine is a much more mainstream drug, its alot easier to get a hold of and more people sell it here than they do cannabis. Everyone I know well thats round about me takes it (friend wise).

blah coke is just a bad idea

It's not like I overly hide my bud and stuff but it just sounds so amazing to be able to relax with people publicly and puff on somethin.

Speaking of 4/20, here's what happened on my 4/20 last year... My step dads work was near my apartment, so he had planned to drop off some clothes I'd forgotten after his work shift ended at like 4:30PM. Well it was 4/20 and I didn't do a damn thing but smoke out of my new bong all day so I totally forgot about him stopping by. I was in the kitchen with two buddies and I just took a huge rip and while the smoke was in my lungs I heard a knock on the door like a foot away from me. We were all ripped so we kinda panicked and were loud shuffling around. Like 5 minutes later I answered the door and made the conversation as quick as possible. He obviously smelled the dank bud and told my mom, then we had a semi-awkward conversation about my weed smoking habits which I had to downplay and lie about. Hoping this 4/20 my parents aren't involved.

That reminds me of a time many years ago I was stoned out of my mind and got a phone call from a close friend of mine's mother who proceded to tell me a long story about how my friend had misdiagnosed apendicitis and his appendix burst. And of course what's running through my mind, since she's calling me instead of him calling me, is that he's dead. Turns out he was alive and she just wanted to let me know he was in the hospital but she scared the living shit out of me.

Ah that sucks, I know I'd get the **** scared out of me too, especially if you were stoned, it becomes more easy to take something the wrong way. Luckily, I'm a pretty discrete smoker, so I make a plan when I smoke, everything has to be back to normal by a certain time, I find setting a certain time helps keep me "hidden."

I've seen many people post about bubblers? What is so great about them?
Do their small size really provide a good hit?
