Seriously, who are you getting these ideas from? Your preacher?
You forget how many types of mushrooms there are. Not all are as safe and unrisky as your everyday joesmoe tripping shroom.

...but those aren't the ones you're supposed to eat. Amanita muscaria is extremely dangerous.

Your missng my point. There are Hundreds if not thouands of types of mushrooms that can be eaten, and do get eaten very often. Some of which are very poiseness and if to much is taken can case many probloms, with death being the most extreme. And dangerous is only depending on the amount taken. You can have advil to make yourself feel better, but have to much and look what happens. That does not mean its necciserly "extremely dangerous".

seriously, you people are hilarious.
all of you(except rezZ) are trying to tell me that you cant die from shrooms at any amount of portioning. there are thousands of types of mushrooms. some make you trip, some dont, some can kill you, some wont. the chances that there is not a mushroom that can make you trip and and could kill you; i say pretty slim. no two types of mushrooms are the same.

you guys need to think with a little more common sense

Okay, I never thought it necessary, but I will clarify myself ONCE:
1) I am NOT debating the toxicity of poisonous fungi. There are thousands of mushrooms that can kill you. However, psychotropic mushrooms billed as "Magic Mushrooms" are. NOT. poisonous.
2) This is a discussion for recreational drugs, right? I don't eat poisonous mushrooms.

what im saying is that every mushroom called a magic mushroom is not the same and just becuase it has hallucinogenic properties does not mean that it does not have potentially fatal poisons in the mushrooms. and that if you take suggested amounts you should be fine but if you were to take say an OZ could kill you.

are you getting my drift.

Shoot me down if i'm wrong but i would have thought the effects caused by magic mushrooms were due to a sort of poison?

You said someone could OD from mushrooms which isn't true, sure you could possibly drop dead from eating your bodyweight in psilocybin though you'd drop stiff from indigestion way before. It's pretty clear you know nothing, and having a poisonous mushroom doesn't account as a bloody overdose.

1. If the mushroom/s is/are cultivated properly you have nothing to worry about at all.
2. Since when was there a suggested amount when considering drugs? I must've missed that leaflet.
3. No one could possibly endure an ounce of mushrooms, hence no one would be physically able to do that.
