i just basically want to deposit some money and be able to buy one off purchases online.

Any help would be great please.
I'll school you really quick on the banking system. It wasn't a problem of the bank not taking it out til three days later. It was the merchant not sending in the payment til three days later. You are supposed to balance your books with the banks books. It's called bank reconciliation.

A debit card is the same thing as using checks essentially. So you have to wait a few days for things to clear. It's a good idea to write down your balance before you make purchases and keep track of everything you purchase. Then wait five days and see if the your record matches up with your banks records. You get overcharge fees when the money is in there but another merchant hasn't sent in the payments yet. It's almost like imaginary money. That's when you get overcharged and the fees start to kick in for the bounced payments(checks).

Wait...why not paypal?

For paypal i just link it through my bank account. It does 2 things for me, doesn't give online retailers my account info, and i can easily track transactions...

I'm just saying, paypal is niiccccccceee

As far as I'm aware that's a security precaution so that if somebodies knicked your card you get a chance to phone the bank up before they take all your monies. Regardless it's not that much to keep on top of what you have and what you've spent, you should be doing so anyway. It's common money-sense.

I know paypal has just come out with an option to create one use credit card number to use when buying online.

Here the a page detailing the feature

techcrunch.com/2007/11/18/paypal-to-offer-virtual-credit-card-payment-product

Not sure though if you are required to have a credit card associated with
your account first for security purposes.
