Prince kind of because he would still have been great to see live but that's it really. It's not like I knew them personally.

1. When was the last time you were genuinely frightened?
That's hard to say, define frightened. Someone close to me had a breakdown recently which concerned me to the point of fear, but it wasn't an acute panic . Apart from that I don't remember.
2. Without condoning it, which war/conflict/battle interests you most?
I'm not sure, but the ones I enjoy reading about the most are the ancient Greek and Roman ones for sure, particularly the one with the burning boats
3. Which musician we lost (recent or not) do you miss most?
John Lennon
4. What instrument seems the saddest to you?
yeah I'm gonna be a basic bitch and agree with the violin, but sadness in music depends so much more on other aspects than the choice of instrument
5. Truthfully, how do you think you would hold up under torture?
I really don't have the slightest idea, because I have no clue how well I can handle strong physical pain (fortunately enough)
6. Who is your favourite (!) serial killer?
Aileen Wuornos

Roman legions and Macedonian phalanxes definitely give me a war boner.

Dexter's got some pretty serious low and just plain boring points but I still love that show to death. The series finale had me crying like a baby.

^ I agree - and the same for me about the finale - we're both crybabies, Bat.

1. When was the last time you were genuinely frightened?

Last year when Karen was taken into hospital at the VERY HEIGHT of the pandemic. It was nothing to do with Covid but she was in the hospital and I couldn't even visit her, in fact, when the ambulance came they said I couldn't go in with her. I said I had to, otherwise nobody would be able to communicate with her. They made a special call, I got permission. Arriving there was like being in a post-apocalyptic movie or something. Terrifying. And then four days of wondering would she get out alive? Most frightened I have ever been in all my life. And the most relieved when she came smiling out of the ambulance, home at last.

2. Without condoning it, which war/conflict/battle interests you most?

I'm a huge fan (!) of World War II, which is why I am writing, and will soon unleash upon you all. my definitive history of same. Within that, I think the Battle of Britain, which really showed how David could stand up to Goliath, a few months that changed the course of the war. Never have so many etc.

3. Which musician we lost (recent or not) do you miss most?

Personally, Dan Fogelberg, whose death shocked me, but as you're all saying "who?" I'll go with Bowie. The world is a darker place without him.

4. What instrument seems the saddest to you?

For me it's between cello and mandolin.

5. Truthfully, how do you think you would hold up under torture?

If the future security and existence of the human race depended on my being able to withstand even the slightest torture, it'd be SOL because I would be singing like a canary at just the SIGHT of pincer, pliers or anything sharp or hot.

6. Who is your favourite (!) serial killer?

Got to go for Jack the Ripper. So iconic, so evil and bloody, and far from being caught, his very identity is still a mystery.

This week's theme is health

1. Do you have an exercise regime?

2. Have you ever been diagnosed with anything serious that made you change your lifestyle/scared the **** out of you?

3. When last did you see the doctor (for Covid reasons, this includes video visit)?

4. Ever been hospitalised?

5. What's your alcohol intake like?

6. Name one thing you do that you know is not healthy, but you do it anyway and have little to no intention of stopping.

Sorry, they're a bit **** this week.
