Who in your life has been most influential on your musical tastes?
My Uncle. Without him I wouldn't be listening to rock or heavy metal. What was your favorite TV show growing up (If you didn't watch any, feel free to pick a movie or a book series)? Doctor Who. Still is a favorite. What's your favorite mythological figure? Don't think about it much, but probably Thor because Marvel. Are there any scents that trigger memories for you? Nope. Guitar solos; long and strong, or short and sweet? Long and strong. |

Who in your life has been most influential on your musical tastes?
Probably my close friend and bandmate. He started me off in the experimental world to some degree with Frank Zappa and a few other artists and then I really fell off the bandwagon when I discover Beefheart. We would also play things together and I'd scour the internet to see if anyone had the same idea because they probably did a good job with it as well. What was your favorite TV show growing up (If you didn't watch any, feel free to pick a movie or a book series)? I've always been quite fond of The Simpsons and Spongebob. What's your favorite mythological figure? Jesus Christ Are there any scents that trigger memories for you? Well, if I ever come across Strawberry Cough again I might remember what happened on one allegedly eventful evening where I've been told I was present at. Guitar solos; long and strong, or short and sweet? Depends on the song really. Frank Zappa's can be cool when they're long Naked City's can be cool when they're short You write a goofy song in five minutes that ends up being the next massive pop hit; what do you name it, and how does it go? It'll be called "Deet All Over" and it'll be a smash summer hit. Doot doot doot doot doot Deet deet deet deet deet All over you All over you. In your hair On your chest In your mouth In your eyes it's Doot doot doot doot doot Deet deet deet deet deet And so on

Who in your life has been most influential on your musical tastes?
Karl Hyde. Underworld's Dubnobasswithmyheadman was the very first recording I heard which wasn't top 40 radio pop, and I was forever changed. Scorsese's taste for tension, Jah Shaka's towers of dub, the radical spirit of Stockhausen, the seemless electro-streams of Kraftwerk, Arthur Rimbaud's poetry and pathos, Miles Davis' haunted beauty, and the serenity of Buddha... all in one record. What was your favorite TV show growing up (If you didn't watch any, feel free to pick a movie or a book series)? The BBC 1967 series, The Prisoner. The series celebrates all of my deepest-held values. I'm holding a role-playing wedding in Portmierion where it was filmed with all in attendance in full costume. What's your favorite mythological figure? Multivac. Because Asimov. Are there any scents that trigger memories for you? Used bookstore smell. The sexiest scent known to man. Guitar solos; long and strong, or short and sweet? Long, preferably processed through Eno's tape delay system. You write a goofy song in five minutes that ends up being the next massive pop hit; what do you name it, and how does it go? While it is a cover, I do a smashing rendition of "Don't Touch Me" by Brak.

Who in your life has been most influential on your musical tastes?
Anthony Fantano. Without his videos I wouldn't have taken musical exploration as seriously. What was your favorite TV show growing up (If you didn't watch any, feel free to pick a movie or a book series)? Dragon Ball Z probably, but I may be forgetting lots of stuff I adored as much or even more. What's your favorite mythological figure? I would just be stating one at random in all honesty. So none. Are there any scents that trigger memories for you? Older ladies wearing Cote L'amant remind me of my Grandmother. Guitar solos; long and strong, or short and sweet? Short and sweet in general. You write a goofy song in five minutes that ends up being the next massive pop hit; what do you name it, and how does it go? "Clap trap and lapse raps" Then say some rubbish over a cloud rap beat.

Who in your life has been most influential on your musical tastes?
In terms of artists I would say Eminem, because it was his music that piqued my interest in rapping music, around 1999/2000. So Solid are probably up there as well. My dad is a big David Bowie fan and also got me into ska so he's been the biggest influence in terms of people I know in real life. What was your favorite TV show growing up (If you didn't watch any, feel free to pick a movie or a book series)? I used to like a lot of the stuff Steve Irwin did. Loved Robot Wars, The Simpsons and a lot of the stuff on Nickelodeon too, as well as Thomas the Tank Engine. What's your favorite mythological figure? I've never thought about this one before, no idea. Are there any scents that trigger memories for you? The smell of KitKats reminds me of my first day at primary school, when I was four years old. I can remember the cloakroom smelling of KitKats very well. Fragrances are one of my hobbies also, there's a load of them that make me feel nostalgic. Guitar solos; long and strong, or short and sweet? Long and strong You write a goofy song in five minutes that ends up being the next massive pop hit; what do you name it, and how does it go? It would be called 'Merking Man', and it would be an upbeat Grime track with me spraying violent bars about how I merk man with Charlie XCX providing the vocals for the hook. The opposing styles would combine really well. lol at Overcast mentioning Jihadi John btw. |

Who in your life has been most influential on your musical tastes?
My mom, who taught me to piano. What was your favorite TV show growing up (If you didn't watch any, feel free to pick a movie or a book series)? Looney Tunes. What's your favorite mythological figure? Ulysses. Are there any scents that trigger memories for you? I can't smell burnt toast without thinking of a certain incident in Rochester, New York. Guitar solos; long and strong, or short and sweet? Short and sweet. You write a goofy song in five minutes that ends up being the next massive pop hit; what do you name it, and how does it go? "B-B-Baby" B-b-baby, why you gotta go? We had something real good going. B-b-baby, why you tellin' me no? Now whenever I look outside, it's snowing. © Pet_Sounds

Who in your life has been most influential on your musical tastes?
Honestly, I'd say this message board in general. I'm the designated "music nerd" of my friends so I'm the one who mostly dishes out the new digs. I've learned a lot from you guys. What was your favorite TV show growing up (If you didn't watch any, feel free to pick a movie or a book series)? I was huge on 90's era cartoons. Mainly Rocko's Modern Life and Ren and Stimpy. The more demented the better. What's your favorite mythological figure? Cthulhu. I have shirts and coffee mugs with his wonderful face and body on them. He's the king of monsters. Are there any scents that trigger memories for you? All the general outdoor smells make me think of growing up. When I was five to about twelve years old, there was rarely a time I wasn't outside and in the woods. So, autumn leaves, freshly cut grass, the smell after a rainstorm, and wild flowers always send me back there. I live next to NYC now. Not much of that going on. Guitar solos; long and strong, or short and sweet? Short and sweet. I've never been a fan of long, drawn out stuff unless it's David Gilmour playing. You write a goofy song in five minutes that ends up being the next massive pop hit; what do you name it, and how does it go? I'm too tired to think of a good answer for this one, sorry. |
