1. Do you prefer to go on a bracing hike or sit in front of the telly/computer?
It depends. If the weather's nice I love to go for long walks but I'm also very much a couch potato
2. What's your favourite font? (Yes I know I'm getting desperate)
the standard LaTeX font and Times New Roman
3. What was your favourite stuffed animal when you were a child?
A mouse that I called Boom Boom Mouse for some reason
4. If you could rid the world of one species, what would it be and why?
if I didn't have to worry about ecological consequences then spiders. Or leeches, they're ****ed up
5. What was the first radio station you listened to?
I have no idea, I never listen to the radio
6. Spiders: kill, ignore or release?
in theory I'm for release, but my arachnophobia is too bad to handle that, so kill

What's a bracing hike, is that when you get braces put on your teeth while hiking?

2. What's your favourite font? (Yes I know I'm getting desperate)

You need adventure, Trolls. Go bungee jumping or something.

3. What was your favourite stuffed animal when you were a child?

A stuffed fish that wasn't even mine. I called him Guppy.

4. If you could rid the world of one species, what would it be and why?

I want to say humans but then I'd be eliminated too. So, I'll go with viruses.

5. What was the first radio station you listened to?

WCAO. AM Top Forty radio, Baltimore, Maryland, Big 6-0

6. Spiders: kill, ignore or release?

I try to ignore unless they're within biting distance. My Mom was terrified of them.

1. Do you prefer to go on a bracing hike or sit in front of the telly/computer?

I spend way too much time in front of screens. I'll go take a hike.

2. What's your favourite font? (Yes I know I'm getting desperate)

For default windohz fonts, I usually use Impact, the go-to for Meme's but I really don't have a favorite. The right tool for the job comes to mind.

3. What was your favourite stuffed animal when you were a child?

Turkey.

4. If you could rid the world of one species, what would it be and why?

Bullies.

5. What was the first radio station you listened to?

Either WLS or Super CFL, I can't remember.

6. Spiders: kill, ignore or release?

All of the above.

Triad Radio on WXFM is the earliest, and most influential, that I remember. I wouldn't be me if I hadn't had Triad.
Right now, I am literally wearing a Triad Radio t-shirt.

Nice. I barely remember Triad, but I do remember WMET, Chicago's Classic Rock and I have a pic of me wearing the tee shirt somewhere. A classic rock station in the late 70's, early 80's playing the same CR they still play 40 years later on the stations that stuck around. Some songs went directly on top of that pile the minute they were released. lol

For the longest time you could hear or read about the competition between WLS and WCFL, but it was always about the numbers while both playing pretty much the same stuff. "The Met" was another I always heard about (and saw the shirts), but didn't find interesting enough - and, yeah, it didn't exist until around the beginning of '77. Weeknights, for me, were always "Triad" and the weekend was "Transition" on WNIB - and very late nights had the DJ "Scorpio" on the air on WGLD. When I started in radio in '74, I took the name "Transition" for the show but played more challenging, creative stuff like "Triad" did. Still today, Saul, the voice of Triad, and I keep in touch. Also, Bobby Skafish did "The Big Beat" (punk and new wave) on WXRT, but that didn't happen until '79. That's when I heard about Ian Curtis' death in '80 - on that show.

Thats the exact shirt.

I remember some of that but I didn't pay much attention to it at the time, I was too young I guess and man, Skafish and XRT have been around almost forever it seems. Mix in some Dr Demento radio play with all of that and those was my earliest days of wanting to actually be a part of something musically. Really cool you went the DJ route and I'm racking my brains thinking I may have heard your broadcasts at some point.

Ahh, Skafish. I remember him. Believe it or not, I bought a single of his in 1980 in Baltimore. I bet I was the only one who heard of him outside of Chicago
Anyway, really loved it.

That's Jim Skafish - not his cousin Bobby.

Both are chill, I guess I'll go for the hike.

2. What's your favourite font? (Yes I know I'm getting desperate)

The font of wisdom.

3. What was your favourite stuffed animal when you were a child?

4. If you could rid the world of one species, what would it be and why?

Mosquitos

5. What was the first radio station you listened to?

98KUPD

6. Spiders: kill, ignore or release?

Ignore, they just want to be warm.
