Better quality of beer, probably.

Butt, butt, butt....
This thread has suddenly descended to the level of toilet humour. Really shit. Scraping the bottom of the barrel now I think. Time to withdraw...

Yes, I've heard Atheist is the preferred brew of nonbeerlievers the world over.

That's kind of you to ask, SGR - but I'm afraid there's no dramatic answer. After years of literal indoctrination at school, I shifted to agnostic. Later on I became mildly interested in astronomy, inspired by Isaac Azimov's great book, The Universe.
With all that science, the idea of a God became less and less plausible to me, then about 30 years later it occured to me: I don't need a God, I can't imagine a God, so that's when I changed my designation. (Prompted partly by living in Mexico, where 83% of the people are Catholics and churches are full every Sunday. People are so convinced that their religion is the norm that I have had students ask me without preamble in front of the class, "Are you a Catholic?". That was the question that made me think that I should have a firm answer. Funniest moment was when I told one student I was an athiest and she said in a surprised voice, "But you're a nice person!!")

The age old question though is do you prefer the Bowie mix or the Iggy mix?

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Nothing like Catholicism (or in your case, a horde of Catholics ) to drive away one's faith, Lisna! Funny anecdote about your student - but just the same, I think her estimation of your character was spot-on.

Bowie mix! Despite its drawbacks (completely MIA rhythm section), I just think it's more raw and punky and musical, and Williamson's guitar tone is more piercing, shrill and metallic. Not heavy-metallic, but razor-sharp metallic. The Bowie mix sounds CHEAP in a GOOD WAY and has a sort of mysterious aura which suits the material. Basically, I prefer the Bowie mix because it's so weird and disjointed! The Iggy mix, although it has its merits (e.g., you can actually hear the Ashetons), just propels everything up into the reds with all that clipping and Iggy's voice pushed way too much to the fore. To me, it makes the band sound too much like a conventional rawk band for loudness' sake - and The Stooges should always sound CHEAP, lol.
