I hate it when people obsess over who "stole whose idea".
Tolkien and Lucas both took tons of different ideas from many different sources, but they made them into something entirely new, which is what matters. Star Wars was brilliant in how it took so many different elements of popular culture and mixed it together. Tolkien fantasy, Kurosawa, Flash Gordon, Westerns, WWII, Comic books, Movie serials, Greek tragedy, Ancient mythology. The influences Lucas took inspiration from were all over the map. Fun facts. C-3PO is meant to be a male version of the robot from Metropolis. And Darth Vader is greatly inspired by Doctor Doom.

no, it was a hasty and frankly asinine thing to do 2) Do you think that your hobbies or past times have become obsessions? guitar and music in general 3) Would you be offended or freaked out if a total stranger crossed the road to tell you that you are attractive? it'd probaby inflate my ego a little more 4) Star Wars or Lord Of The Rings? i've found myself able to connect with Star Wars more 5) What food item do you absolutely despise? it may seem odd, seeing as i'm from a spanish family, but 6) If you could dine with anyone in the world who would it be and why? anyone who wouldn't mind me eating like an uncivilized pig
