I worked during 3 years of high school, and I wish I didn't, especially as I was already making money from business ventures.

To be honest, you don't need much money when you're living at home and at high school. Your time can be better spent with mates, (in some people's cases) doing schoolwork, or bird-doggin' chicks and bangin' beaver. Seriously though, high school years are some of the best of your life (probably sounds naive as I'm only going on 20).

Of course it depends on your situation... but I think the ideal situation is to work perhaps 5 hours a week after school, so that you have enough money to buy necessary things, but it doesn't intrude on your life. And if you really need money (for uni etc), work in the summer hols.

No Worries
My first job was working at Burger King (and I dont eat meat)
Then I worked at Store that sold beads
I have been a house back riding instructor
Then I was a photographer (like weddings and ****)
Worked for a non-profit, community-based conservation group to protect and restore the Rouge Watershed in Toronto Ontario Canada.
Then for 6 months of my life I was a tree planter planting anywhere from 2000-3000 trees a day
And also worked at a photolab in shoppers drug mart

that is a pretty big list, that is great that you are part of NPO stuff not just big corp stuff.

thanks yeah NRO is where its at I plan to run one one day when i settle down. I dont work there anyone but i still volunteer alot it's so nice

ya i might do a little work with them soon, i was thinking of taking some time off bofore going to university travel, may be build a school in africa or something like that, my parents also do some work with some companies or organizations like these, well not work they give money, so might look into them.

I never got the whole 'if you work young it'll build character' thing. If by character you subordinance and an acceptance of authority then yah, I guess it does.

Working young is dumb and horrible, and I don't know why I do it....except I think I got fired....but I'm not sure
