I'm currently trying to figure out what kind of tax can be added without your knowledge or consent, and is nearly 30% of the sale. I'm absolutely disgusted with my campus bookstore at the moment.

...All textbooks should be available in PDF, then we could all buy a kindle and forget this ****.

30%?! Wow! Believe me, I feel for you; the university system tries to bleed you every which way on costs. When I was at the campus bookstore with my daughter, I couldn't believe the high prices on the books (even the used ones). I bought her a few odds and ends we'd forgotten, some medicines and a school hoodie, and the prices of those were outrageous. The price of meal plan is ridiculous too -- for horrible food.

Wish you the best of luck in your studies, Pedestrian. Sorry for these financial burdens for you.

It's frustrating, even compared to total system failures like the US. I don't know what I'm going to do next semester, let alone next year, to pay for my education.

Is there any type of government loan or private loan program available to you? Although going into debt is probably the last thing you need or want. My daughter has a government loan she will start repaying at reasonable interest when she graduates. She receives a partial (about one-third) scholarship and I pay the remainder of the tuition, room and board with help from a partial parent loan. Graduate and doctorate level are required for her chosen field and she will have to take out more loans of her own for those. The debt will be considerable and I just hope it all pays off in the end.

Only for your basic tuition and it varies from province to province. It doesn't cover your whole tuition for the year anyways - last year my total tuition was $5400, but I only got $3500. I'm on the hook for the rest. Textbooks have to be paid for by the students.

Pedestrian, your school should only be charging provincial and/or federal tax for textbooks, and if that comes to 30% in BC, that's ****ing ridiculous. We only get charged 15% tax here, and it's usually included in the price tag on the shelf so there are no surprises at the checkout.

Our provincial tax is 12%, and was already factored into the 547 total. When I get to the book store on Tuesday, there will be words. I definitely expect a full legal explanation of how they can apply massive hidden fees to my textbooks after purchase.

Had to cut loose one of my subs

Not only was he cheap as hell, he gave me the ickiest feeling, and when I'm trying to do my job he's being a fanny about it. Then he pretends he's gonna pay then chickens out or whines about it. I get sick of it, because I don't like this guy and I'm wasting time on him when I can be taking other sub applications and training other slaves. So he tells me he doesn't like it when money comes into the equation, because "it makes it seem like what we have is artificial"

LIKE I'M YOUR E-GIRLFRIEND? NO. YOU CAME INTO THIS KNOWING THAT A, I HAVE A BOYFRIEND, AND B, ALL I WOULD WANT IS THE MONEY!

To me it feels like that one time there was an MB chat and someone was masquerading as "Hermione" and was an ******* and Exoskeletal confronted me about it and I asked him what music they were playing and he told me they played Staind. I don't give a **** who's masquerading as me, except when they ****ing play Staind, that's just slanderous and highly offensive. It feels the same with this guy. The idea that I would want anything out of the rude, patronising **** is an insult to my good taste.

Son of a fuck. Dead Can Dance announced the Australian leg of their tour. One frigging date and it's in Sydney. For fuck's sake they came from Melbourne they could at least play here. I'm hoping they're just holding out.

Went to the library to study for two exams tomorrow in order to keep distractions to a minimum.
I found up sitting next to the most interesting man in the world, and now I'm pulling an all-nighter because of his eidetic memory, damaged hippocampus, New York DJ, MD holding, lispy, Josh Bell dating, coma surviving ass.
Fuck being social.
