This isn't really a b*tch, as much as it is an observation.

In another thread, we were talking about the Emancipation Proclamation. That got me thinking about this whole 'reparations' thing. I never understood the reasoning behind it.

I mean, no one alive today was a slave in the 18th and 19th century. No one alive today was a slave owner in the 18th and 19th century. Why should I owe anyone any money, and why should anyone be entitled to any money? It doesn't make sense to me.

It it about sacrifices made by ancestors? If so, then my great great great grandfather died fighting in the Union Army, for slaves' freedom. Am I entitled to some reparations from the ancestors of those slaves?

I think that's a legitimate question.

youtube is refusing to let me register, i fill in all the fields and it comes up with 'i'm illegible' bah stupid crappy thing...

if anyone knows why it's not working for me, feel free to point it out, i was going to start a thread for help but i thought i might aswell just bitch about it instead.
