I just use sheet metal cutters similar to these to split open those damn packages:

My dad is a metal working machinist and I think he just nicked them from work, lol. I'm not sure if you could get something like that at Home Depot or Lowe's.

Yea, I've already looked around at places like that, and none of them carry broken picture links at all.

It's funny, I bought them for one specific project years ago and they've turned out to be surprisingly useful. If there's something weird that needs to be cut, they're definitely my go-to tool.

^ EMT shears/scissors work great on plastic clamshell/blister packaging.

I absolutely hear this! It's even worse when you try to work up a corner and then pull it back, it gives for a few seconds and you think it's going to work, but just as you get your finger almost in the gap so you can try to force the two sides apart SNAP! it shuts back and those as you say razor sharp edges cut your hands.

Death to vacuum plastic packaging! I'd rather a whole forest of trees died so they made these packed in cardboard, I really would!

Twelve posts about this subject. Trouble in the Middle East, a stumbling economy, and I'm sure somewhere there has just been a catastrophic earthquake, but what's most troubling this site is the scourge of clamshell blister packaging.

Whenever I see people spell 'lose' as 'loose' I feel like I'm going to explode with rage. It is a four letter word, it is not difficult to spell.

You can add your/you're to that as well.
