Ice storm happened last night, so now everything is covered in a sheet of ice and most of the city is without power because of downed lines (yeah, old neighbourhoods here mostly so we don't have underground wires). We had electricity until like ten minutes ago, when the neighbour's exceptionally large ash tree decided to bow under the weight of the ice and take the utility poles down with it.

Now the city is saying it could be up to 3 or 4 days without electricity. So no heat (!!!) and there goes my mom's excellent Christmas dinner plans (no gas stove). No movies or TV for Xmas shows, no Internet (I am using a 3G data stick), and no electricity for Christmas... Argh.

My computer is running on battery now but it's almost dead. Catch ya later, while I try to stay warm.
