One of the legs that supports the box spring under my bed is broken and I don't know how it got that way. But it makes the middle of the bed sink so when you lay in the bed it feels as though you are lying over a shallow pit in the ground or something.

I had only a mattress for the longest time, but it was on the box spring so not that bad. The only problem was that the mattress wore out pretty quickly and it was just lumpy.
