Default Gendun Drup

#5

Name:Pema Dorje (Gendun Drup)
Profession: Spiritual Leader
Life: 1391–1474

Gendun Drup is credited with being one of the founders of Buddhism and the first known Dali Lama of Tibet. It is amazing what he accomplished in such a short time even while having absolutely no real political power. He carried out a religion (better classified as a philosophy) that has lasted even through today. There are many translations and copies of his teachings, that very well apply to today society.

I could go on for weeks telling you about each amazing movie this man has created and/or been in. Some being (my personal favorite) Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Sin City, and many more. Another reason he is so cool is the close relationship he has with a man named Steve Bushemi. These two together can not make a bad movie. And by not bad I mean amazing and wonderful all over. Below is a wack job movie critic who gets put down by QT, and below that just a short video f QT spitting on some reporter.

QT is a badass producer, but that guy is crazy. His work really gives you an understanding of how unordinary of a person he is. Me and my girlfriend bumped into him at a toy store in Austin called "Toy Joy", he was head to toe in leather with a duster and everything. Quite a character indeed.

nice picks so far

Not quite as epic as Billy Murray with RZA and GZA though. Not much is.

Name: David Khari Webber Chappelle
Profession: Comedian, Screenwriter, Television/film Producer, Actor
Life: August 24, 1973 – Present

Dave Chappelle is one of if not the funniest man on television today. Do I need to tell you that though, no because you already know it. The first time I saw him was in "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" as Ahchoo. From that moment on I considered him a solid comedian, not only from this small role but his appearance on Undercover Blues. His first big stand up at Apollo theater he was booed of the stage. He has performed at many large venues since then, including being in handful of big budget movies.

In 2003 his big break came. Most people know him from the Chappelle Show. I must agree with everyone else on this one that it was easily one of the most steadily hilarious shows to ever be on TV. By the third season he had had enough and just picked up and left. Currently he is doing a small show and performing stand up around the country.

I checked out Rain Dogs today, really enjoyed it. Really reminds me of early Bob Dylan. Any suggestion on which album to try next?

God, great choice there. I was just remembering today about how funny he is. He's one of the few racial comedy comedians that actually make that field funny.

Now I wanna see Lewis Black on here.

I actually got to see him last summer live. Was a really funny show. He was wearing a stained black undershirt and some undersized black pants. Idk if he qualifies as coolest ever status though.

Burns/Hicks im assuming?

I say W.C. Fields gets a nomination, he was a seriously funny dude and not just for his stuff that they played in movies.

When asked why he never drank water (he was a huge alcoholic) his response was simple: "because fish fuck in it."

I know this isn't the forum, but Bill Hicks is a pretencious comic for prententious people to quote at anyone who has a different opinion. Its bumper sticker comedy at its best, which means for those of us who hate pot heads, its horrible.
