Try Kunkletown on for size.

I'm from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which is where all the tough guys from New York and New Jersey come to get beat up every year when they're on vacation and act like an ass. And the warm, welcoming natives will make you feel like an imbecile for not knowing your way around a place that you just got to. **** it. You're fair game. You're just here to pollute and spend money. We know the score.
It's a tacky little 80-year-old tourist trap in the worst spots, and then there's the ghettos. And there's golf! Yeah. Golfers are pricks for the most part, but they live here. Lucky us.
There's about 10,000 restaurants (not an exaggeration), and most of them are buffets.
And there's not much of a music scene here, but we're doing something about that, and it's on the rise, thanks to all of the local artists (including yours truly) with little more than dogged determination and cocks like stallions. ;)

We were invited to play the Indianapolis Metal Fest in 2008. We drove the 15 or so hours to be greeted with news that, what do you know? The city was trying to shut it down. A two day, three stage festival was turned into 2 stage, one day nightmare.

Wow, that does sound terrible. To be honest I wasn't aware this was even going on, just goes to show you, Indy doesn't really have much of a metal scene. Where was it held?

I was born and lived in Austin, Texas, USA until I was 14. My dad was in the USAF (United States Air Force) at the time. The summer before my freshman year of high school, my dad was transfered to Hascom AFB, in Mass. We lived in Fitchburg, Ma, until I graduated high school. At that time, my parents went to live on the base, and I lived in the Dorms of UMass Amherst. I currently reside in Orange, Ma.

I can't remember. Some big-ass theater. There was a White Castle across the street.

I live in Melbourne, which is apparently the cultural capital of Australia.

I'm pretty proud of living here, it's a beautiful city and I would never want to live anywhere else in the world. Great culture, bearable weather (compared to the rest of Aus) and the people are just great. At night the city is full of quirky little bars with bands playing, there's tons of art galleries, great food, great opportunity.

...which is precisely why I stayed here when my parents and the rest of my family moved overseas!

Portland, Maine on a mild winter day:
http://therhetoric.net/blog/wp-conte...n-portland.jpg

But I grew up in a tiny little town on seneca lake in upstate NY called Willard (ironically, in Portland I live on Willard Beach).Seneca Lake is gorgeous and I havent been able to find a picture that does it justice, but...

http://academic.emporia.edu/aberjame...15/seneca1.jpg

Willard was probably most famous for it's mental asylum for which the town was actually named, and not vice-versa. The Hospital was enormous; it ran the entire length of the town, had it's own movie theatre, cemetery, and by the time I was a kid 50% of it was shut down and the buildings were already dilapidated. There were of course, countless urban legends of ghosts, haunted buildings, and escaped homicidal maniacs that were still on the loose and lurking in our town. Our mission as kids was to explore these buildings and separate truth from fiction. Many pairs of drawers were soiled. Here's one of the run down buildings:

Spooky.

I grew up here in Belgium, in fact my house is somewhere in this pic but it's not high enough resolution for me to pinpoint exactly where, and it may be blocked by the neighbor's house which was taller and in a slight mound.

I never posted any pictures of here, which I totally should do:

All Lebanon looks like this from the top. That's where I'm from, so the origins of my family (we have this obsession with knowing every person's origins) - It's called Deir Al-Amar (as in "House of the Moon").

It's a pretty touristic place, usually visited by beige-shorts-wearing Europeans (sadly not in that photo, cause they're probably the ones taking it).

A pretty neat place, that we have to visit to vote, and do these legal paper stuff (à la Joseph and Mary goes to Beitlehem). It was actually the old capital (like 200 years ago).

---------------

Now I live here, a town called Adma, 27 km to the north of Beirut. It has a nice view of the mountain and the sea, which is cool:

I found a map of it, here's my house (in red, how to get to my home, coming from the highway road):

The view to the sea, in Autumn ... totally rad:

*** Sorry for the Amateur pictures --- none of the pictures were taken by I.

It kind of looks like a customized land (à la Pimp My Car).

Hey, I can see the Aquarium ferris wheel in that pic. Lamest ferris wheel ride (and the most expensive) I ever took.

Lovely pic of downtown Houston though. That's where I currently live kids.
