I guess, all things considered, it's among the lower forms of squash but squash rules so that's not a bad thing.

Nuh-uh! It's no good baked that way either!
We may have to consult the Pentagon regarding this very serious squash matter.

If you haven't tried acorn squash then get thee an acorn squash, cut it into thin rings, spread them in olive oil and cajun seasoning (plus a teeny tiny bit of brown sugar) and roast them. It's divine!
(ALSO very good: Cut them in half lengthwise so that they look like little bowls, bake them, and put couscous or something in them.)

Edit: OK, spaghetti squash is not completely horrible; apparently insulting vegetables makes me feel slightly guilty afterward, as if I've just insulted a friend.

Edit 2: Most vegetables are MUCH better roasted, though, yes. I grew up being forced to eat mushy, unseasoned steamed vegetables at friends' houses with plain boiled chicken breasts. Everyone's favorite!

I'll have to try out the acorn squash recipe. I always get spaghetti or butternut, I don't know if I've ever had acorn squash.

Butternut's better but acorn is some good ****. Kobacha is the overall best one though.
