Sex is seriously overrated in the media. They trump it up into some kind of elusive exclusive thing, where quantity overrides quality.

It's an easy concept for the opposite sex to grasp, that's why. In the case of the blowjob there's a lot of room for error, with the possibility that the female will mistake your little fella for a lollipop and literally suck the bell-end right off of you.
