Found an old baseball picture from when I was 7. I'm wearing the #8 jersey, and look absolutely *thrilled*. Being the only girl on the team was irritating.

Haha, I have no idea. The 6-7 year old league (Rookie League) didn't have MLB team names, for whatever reason. Those were reserved for Minor League and Little League. Probably sponsored by a bank, though.

I'm sure that I was.

And here's me in 2008, age 18. A really bad photo taken by my friend at the high school jazz band concert. It was poorly cropped by her too.

Your style changed a lot, Burning Down! I must say I prefer the more modern one, which is less like a little frilly confection. Speaking of which...

I echo all the "awwwww's," Dayvan. You look like an adorable cherub, reminding me of this one:

I can relate to the irritation, Phanastasio. When I was 8 or 9, I joined a city Parks and Recreation soccer team. I was the only girl on the team.

At least you got the same uniforms. I still remember the awkward feeling of being made to feel different from my teammates during practice, because when the coach separated the team into "shirts" and "skins" and picked two kids to start the selections, I knew what team I'd be stuck on. I felt humiliated to be treated differently, especially when I didn't *look* any different from the boys, which made the whole "girls have to wear shirts" law even stupider than it already was.

That was in the old days, though, back before adults came up with the novel idea of giving all kids those gender-neutral, stinky, sweaty red and green mesh jerseys to put on over their clothing.
