I guess I prefer ugly (even intentionally ugly) covers to pretty, boring ones.
Are most covers pretty generic because people are too worried to make something bad to make something good? Thats the best explanation for the mudane.

I agree. But most of the album art I consider ugly is because it's horribly bland and dumb.

I find that too, however there are some bands I've found with absolutely amazing album art but the album sucks. Perfect example is Stevo's album "Beatween Earth & Universe
