Yeah i would go to the meebo site too and just log in there to use AIM. You can still make a buddies list and use chat rooms and so on. I downloaded it specifically to try this chat room out but i'll probably just uninstall it now ive been and checked meebo out.

Would anyone be up for using IRC, you can just use mibbit.com instead of messing about installing a client? We could register the channel and set a bot up on it without too much difficulty.

Or are you all perfectly content with AIM?

AIM sucks, I second this even though it'll probably go nowhere.

IRC is definetly a better option and I'd argue the smartest, but .. people don't really know IRC anymore. Some have a hard time getting on and they don't know you're supposed to just hang around for days until a discussion finally takes place.

When the channel was running, people kept joining to check if there was activity, then disconnected again. I mean, that's just newb style IRCing if I ever saw it. How are discussions going to take place if the days' 20 joins/quits all happen at different times?

Of course the channel is dead now, but if someone else wants to have a go - shoot. I can provide bots and the occasional company.

I'm in if a few more people are in too, theres nothing worse than sitting in an empty chatroom though, thats why I'll wait for a few others.

If it takes off then i might look into it. I went the AIM route because it seemed the active one, and with meebo it's easy to get involved.

Well using mibbit as opposed to a proper client makes it easier on the noobs than even the aim chat (which was confusing me last night, but maybe that's just me).

I'd be happy to sit around in a channel, as I'm usually in 1 or 2 others as well anyway.

Nothing is more hilarious than those IRC bots who parrot whatever conversation is going on.
