What Kind of iPod Are You?

I'm interested to see what you kids have as far as toys are concerned...

sidewinder 05-25-2009 12:16 AM

8GB 2nd gen. Nano...I rotate stuff out almost every day depending on what I want to hear.

Freebase Dali 05-25-2009 12:18 AM

Ew. I don't use iPod.

I use another MP3 player.... Imagine that!
I actually met a person who didn't know that iPod isn't the only MP3 player in existence.

Gone Sugaring 05-25-2009 12:29 AM

Classic, 60GB.

LoathsomePete 05-25-2009 12:32 AM

Don't use one, I did however find a 1 GB Shuffle the other day while I was out for a walk, but for some reason the thing doesn't want to work with my car stereo so I threw it out the window. I use a Sansa 2 Gig one which I love to death, however I have been thinking of upgrading to a Zune 120 GB in the near future.

lucifer_sam 05-25-2009 12:48 AM

my friend told me never to buy an iPod because they were shit. so instead i got a 30 GB iPod four years ago and it's been completely awesome ever since. thank god i don't listen to people.

i did have a Creative MuVo about five or six years ago, it was terrible, broke in about three weeks and they refused to take it back. $180 completely wasted.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 05-25-2009 12:56 AM

i hate ipods/itunes

lucifer_sam 05-25-2009 12:59 AM

you're such a rebel.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 05-25-2009 01:06 AM

not trying to be, i just hate how the ipod & itunes interface; the fact that you have to use itunes files

i have a creative zen, its only 2gb though

ps i dont usually bust out all three at once

my understanding was that it converts songs you listen to to their filetype, and that if you buy songs off itunes youre stuck with them as that filetype. which doesnt play on windows media player, for example.

i guess im wrong - doesnt change the fact that i dont fucking like ipods

lucifer_sam 05-25-2009 01:19 AM

no, mp3s are just fine (you can download in that format as well). the aac format is used by iTunes to better suit the iPod video. that and they don't have a license from Microsoft to support wma files.

it's just competition between two companies, i don't see why anyone should give enough of a fuck to pick a side.

Dr_Rez 05-25-2009 01:38 AM

Iv had a classic 80 for a while and trading it in for a 120 soon. Wouldn't go with anything else since I can play any file type through Winamp (which syncs and organizes) and download private software that changes ipod menu system to a more classic older by folder style.

jackhammer 05-25-2009 05:23 AM

Ipod *shudder*. I have an 8gb card in my Sony phone that does me fine.

Piss Me Off 05-25-2009 05:30 AM

I don't like Ipods either, call me elitist but music's a personal thing for me and i wouldn't want the same music player as everyone else. That and those earphones are a travesty.

I'm happy with my £9 1GB little thing which was the cheapest option in Argos.

gotjuice 05-25-2009 08:57 AM

Zune 120GB for me. I had the first-gen 30GB and then upgraded about a year ago. The device itself is perfect, the software a little less so, but I use MediaMonkey anyways so it doesn't really matter. The only thing I wish the device had is last.fm support, since at the moment only the plays I listen to on my computer with MM count.

Same here.

artisan 05-25-2009 12:32 PM

I use the Classic 120 GB myself, plus my iPhone if I need it. Love everything Mac except the laptops...

NSW 05-25-2009 12:56 PM

30g Zune here...the software gives me nothing but trouble. I used to have a 4g Samsung that I could hook up to any WMP on any computer and put music on it. I loved that thing so much. Just wish they made them with more capacity.

dac 05-25-2009 01:12 PM

30 gig classic which desperately needs to be upgraded. First generation of the video iPod, got it right when they came out. As for the people who hate on iPod/iTunes, it's great user friendly software... quit being a twat.

My son has a 1gb shuffle and I have to use i-tunes for it and it sucks balls. I could say the same for everyone who just buys an I pod because it's the most popular. Cowon is where it's at sound wise apparently and it's a name I want to check out.

FaSho 05-25-2009 03:34 PM

8 gb 3rd gen Nano. i love it, but it's not nearly enough space.

simplephysics 05-25-2009 03:46 PM

120 gb standard issue ipod, though I'll probably never fill it up, it's nice knowing that if I happen to go on a wild and epic downloading binge I'll have the space for it.

The Monkey 05-25-2009 03:47 PM

Classic, 120 GB. Had a 8 GB Nano for two years, but it wasn't nearly big enough to have room for everything. (When I got the Classic I had 25 GB of music, more than three times of what fit on the Nano.) It's really nice to be able to fit all your music on one player.

Alfred 05-25-2009 04:57 PM

I have an 8 gig Snoy Walkman MP3 player that works amazing.

So cool it's fucking retarded.

Edit:
This quote from that link had me loling.
"...according to the DuroSport website, the company’s engineers believe stereo is illusory. Yes, you read that right. DuroSport doesn’t believe in stereo."

Really? I've never had any problem with the software.

My friend did, though.

Unrelenting 05-25-2009 08:56 PM

Ipod Classic

120 gb FTW

someonecompletelyrandom 05-25-2009 11:30 PM

A Zune, bitch.

Everyone had a Sony Walkman back in the day and nobody gave a damn.

I agree with you on the headphones, big time. That's why you replace them. :p: I don't expect any headphones that come with an mp3 player to have great sound quality.

I've found if you're thorough in tagging and maintaining your music, and if you tell the Zune software not to add any information to it, it's very stable and actually a nice piece of software. If your music tags are messed up and you give the software free reign, God only knows what it can and will do to your music.

Farfisa 05-26-2009 12:38 AM

I have an Ipod classic 80g... it's built like a tank but, the software is pretty bad.

Antonio 05-26-2009 12:27 PM

Sansa

crash_override 05-26-2009 02:29 PM

Don't use an IPod.

I rocked the Creative Nomad Jukebox for YEARS... since at least 2000. Now I just use my phone, I holds like 8GB which is plenty for now.

Zer0 05-27-2009 02:59 PM

ipod classic 80GB. I does the job and i've had no major problems with it so far. The earphones that come with it are terrible though, so i threw them away.

Odyshape 05-27-2009 03:06 PM

Have a 120gb Classic 6500 songs and still have 70 gbs left :) gotta love the thing, too bad iTunes is such an inconsistent piece of ****, I swear 1/5 times it doubles songs I put on, also my album artwork gets randomized every time I connect it, its such a bitch.
