Yes. It's about instruments people make to be able to create microtonal music.

I want to make a guitar like this

Or you could just bend or slur to get those same notes. Listen to the master.

Frownland 10-06-2016 03:32 PM

I'm aware. It's pretty difficult to land on a bend though, especially with chords.

Chula Vista 10-06-2016 03:37 PM

Not at all. Just takes technique.

Frownland 10-06-2016 03:42 PM

Therefore it's not difficult? **** outta here.

A microtonal neck would just be too cool, especially if I wanted to play something that wasn't dull new agey bull****.

And there are home many different techniques? Why learn one there is no reason to learn when you can just get a microtonal kneck and put more time into mastering the other techniques.

I mean, I don't think it's pointless to learn the technique but I also don't think that the existence of that technique takes away from how badass that guitar is.

Ya but then you'd be locked into those notes. Bending and slurring allows you to dictate the notes instead of the fretboard doing it for you. That's probably the best thing I took away from my years of burying myself in Shawn's stuff. I'll bend and slur half and whole steps but more often that not I'll slip in some microtones along the way.

Why am I discussing guitar techniques with you anyway?

...you do realize that it essentially both triples the amount of notes that you could play on a standard guitar and allows you to bend, right?

Me: I want a car.
Chula: Pfff just learn to run faster.

Probably because my music is like 100% technique. You're thinking of songwriting.

I'm not saying it's pointless. I'm saying that if you're someone who wants to play entire songs using nothing but microtonal music, it's better to get the guitar and focus on other techniques for playing.

But if you're like me and just want the ability to occasionally play a microtonal note, the technique is the way you should go.

One of your stupidest analogies ever.

Frowny: I want to be able to play microtones.
Chula: Then play microtones.

Biggest problem with those weirdly fretted guitars is they actually make it harder to slip in the standard western whole and half tone scales.

Was about to reply but just got a major whiff of grilled steak coming in through the window from my next door neighbor.

What were we talking about again?

Chula Vista 10-06-2016 06:10 PM

What does your mother look like? You don't seem to have a problem being extremely rude and offensive when it comes to her. Or having others here doing the same.

Piss off.

Frownland 10-06-2016 06:12 PM

Please don't post pictures of my mother, Chula.

Pussy is my favourite word for vagina. I use it in German as well.

Moosylvania, from Jay Ward's Rocky and Bullwinkle television series. This state has been contested by the U.S. and Canada in two episodes of the series, "Moosylvania" and "Moosylvania Saved". The U.S. says it is a province of Canada, while Canada says it is a U.S. state. It is an island in the middle of western Lake Superior. Bullwinkle is governor of Moosylvania. The state's official sport is farkling. Jay Ward even tried to make the 51st state, which he called "Moosylvania", by claiming an island off the coast of the U.S. and Canada for himself and promoting it all over the country. When Ward and his publicist, Howard Brandy, arrived at the White House gate with a proposal and signed petition, the guards told them to leave due to the Cuban Missile Crisis.

I don't think it's fair that Jackass McDickbiter got to be mod after only two years, and I'm stuck in the slums with the rest of you losers after nearly six.

grindy 10-10-2016 01:05 PM

You say you like Frownland's music, but have you ever been drunk and paid for it? I rest my case.

One of the first things I did when I joined was actually telling Frown that some song of his sucked.
