DISLIKES:

Ways in which Santa can realistically enter your home

- Breaking through a window
- Picking the lock to a door
- Breaking through the door, commando style
- Renting a bulldozer and coming through the living room wall
- Sneaking in during the day and hiding out in the laundry room until dark
- Chloroforming your mom as she's returning from shopping, stealing her key, then making a copy at Walmart

LIKES:

Ways in which Santa can unrealistically enter your home

- The chimney
- Teleportation (Thanks Anteater's parents)
- Up through the toilet
- Through the mirrors, like in the movie Mirrors
- Wall sockets
- Ventilation ducts
- Shape-shifting into the dog, or your sister
- inter-dimensional space-time travel

So, I've concluded that the reason the chimney is used, is because it's the least creepy of the unrealistic ways santa can break into your home. Any thoughts?

Ohhhh I didn't think about a magic key. Yea that's just not at all interesting, but I see how it wouldn't scare the kids.

My cousin was really scared of Santa, so much so my Uncle had to tell her he wasn't real etc.

A magic key always seemed plausible as a child. He was a magical character, he could have a key that works no matter what the house. Or he could magic it up from thin air, it always seemed more plausible than a chimney.

Well I certainly agree the mirror thing would be creepy as hell, that's for sure.
