I have a question. How does one avoid the websense filter without being caught? It's a bitch not being able to surf at work...>: [

When you're home, go here: Free Proxy Lists - IP and Port Lists - Hide My Ass! - Find the server locations nearest you - Copy the IP and port of as many as possible - Bring the list to work and set up your web browser's proxy settings with one of the IP's and port number. Try it it. If web pages don't resolve, try another one. Keep repeating until one works. It will probably work for a couple days and you'll need to find a new one. Or you could try web-proxies, which are a lot easier in that they allow you to go to their web page and surf anonymously through it without any setup, but they usually get blocked quicker because they're around longer... For a list, go here: Free Web Proxies If the IT guys set up their Websense server well, you won't be able to do any of this at all. So hopefully they just simply specified certain URL's to be blocked, and you won't have much issue. |

Nope, tried that, it's all blocked. I even tried to set up a remote connection to my computer but it didn't work for some reason. Apparently they know their shit. Sigh.

Scroll wheel problems?
After about two weeks of annoyance due to my scroll wheel mysteriously ceasing to work and after countless product support searches I finally found a solution. Turn the fucker upside down on the mouse pad and furiously rub the bastard back and forth at great speed. Works a treat! ![]() |
