I needed a small desk chair for my listening room and I found this neo-victorian accent chair for 1/10 the price of similar chairs listed online.

I spotted this piece at a local antique mall last November, and thanks to the detailed notes I kept I knew exactly where to find it.

The gold frame, burgundy velvet, and ornamental embellishments match all my other vintage furniture so I couldn't pass it up.

I threw out all my chairs. I don’t own a single chair. My scene is lots and lots of towels, blankets, cushions, and pillows.

Ordered some stuff a few days ago, hopefully it will be arriving tomorrow:

The new Craig Finn album I Need A New War.
Ad Astra DVD.
Annihilation DVD (a sci-fi film starring Natalie Portman).
Never Look Away DVD (a German historical film, original title Werk Ohne Autor).

The Batlord 03-04-2020 11:50 AM

New TV and PS4 just came and have been mostly painless to setup so far. Finna throw back a few overpriced non-**** beers, order a pizza (or two), and play some Spider-Man before having to go to work at 7am tomorrow. Also got Divinity: Original Sin 2, The Outer Worlds, and Titanfall 2 to go with the new system.

Killer haul, Divinity 2 is damn near the GOAT RPG as far as I’m concerned

Nice.

New stuff for my truck came in today:
  • American Racing Baja (black) rims
  • Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires (285/70R17's)
  • Access Vanish Tonneau Cover

I have a design drawn out for a disc golf storage system in the bed, using lots of wood and some corner brackets. Gotta clean all that clutter out from the back seat.

Good fortune has found me again! I spotted a local antique shop I'd never visited before and I popped in to see if they had any floor-standing antique globes. They had a half dozen!

I've given a new home to this locally-produced Kittinger terrestrial globe manufactured in 1931, Model 48F9. The globe was made by the renowned British globe maker W. & A.K. Johnston, and likely imported by A.J. Nystrom, Chicago. It's handsomely seated upon a hand-crafted 36" English Georgian style American Walnut stand with a carved acanthus leaf base and scrolling legs made in Buffalo, NY.

At ⅕ the price of the same model on auction sites, I couldn't pass it up. The globe is a lovely complement to my vintage decor and fits beautifully beside my French doors and antique Philco console radio and 78 player.

What luck!

The world is scavenging for toilet paper… and I’m buying antiques.

I've decided to start folding origami again during this lockdown, so I bought some origami paper. It will take ages to arrive though, because it's coming all the way from Japan

I feel like a real Japanese person would call you a dumb gaijin for not just using some regular paper.

True. But did she work three hours on graveyard in the middle of a pandemic to become a walking Tuxedomoon billboard?

You should make your own bars. Then you wont be eating candy disguised as health food.

Besides, you can make them pineapple, carrot, apple, and canned soup flavor.

Finally was able to get a Sample Drum for under 300, and there was a really good deal on folktek utility modules, so I got their envelope follower. I've wanted a folktek product for YEARS, but I've never had the money or a real use for them till now. Really glad they got into the eurorack game.

^Another one of those block rockin beats^

Nice.

I've been ordering performance parts for my truck lately, and I gotta say this is one ****ing expensive hobby. Holy what the ****, but getting it over the 400 HP mark is glorious. I'm at about 410 right now, but after a new cat back exhaust system it'll be pretty close to 500. Then, a good custom tune will be in order along with some AlphaOBD shenanigans.

Now that I actually have a phone to listen to music with I remembered this kid at work who always has an Airpod in his left ear and he's never told to take it out so I'm following suit.

Good album but that artwork and pad are wank sorry Frown.
