I've started a Mediafire account for the regular posters here at MusicBanter. The purpose of which is to share our eclectic collections with other members of the community.

There are some important rules that MUST be followed in order to be included in this.

You have to contribute to the collection. This means uploading albums. Whether you want to upload your entire collection, a few of your favorites or use the account to upload abums that you post here on MB or on your blog is up to you. Leeching will not be tolerated and you'll be banned from the account.
When I give you the password, you can NOT share it with anybody else. Not your best friend, not your mum, not your dad. It is for your eyes only.
When you join the Mediafire make sure you categorize your stuff decently. Make a folder for your uploads, like say "Conan's Stuff" or "Conan's Files" at least. From there you can organize it how ever you want. I personally created several sub-folders (A-Z) and listed things by Artist, Album. But you can do it however you want, as long as the artist name is atleast included.

I've started to .rar and upload the files in my collection to get the ball rolling. PM me for login and be advised - if you don't contribute regularly you won't get in.

this seems like a cool idea. But aren't you worried about someone messing everything up on it. I hope it doesn't happen but always a possibility.

well i'm glad someone got the ball rolling. a folder per member seems to work nicely, from what I've seen. i'm game for this.

We've tried this before and the account was sabotaged by an untrusted member, but as long as the login info stays on the hush hush there shouldn't be any problems.

That's cool I just don't want a good idea ruined by a troll. It would be interesting to see when it gets packed with traffic.

i definitely agree with it though, some obnoxious twat could ruin it for everybody if we permit free reign. at this point i think it's pretty easy to distinguish between members who can and cannot be trusted with the pw.

I'm totally game for this, but #nine asked a good question. How many gigs per member is allowed? Well if there is a limit that is.
