this thread is stunning, I dig it hard. I've got some additions, sorry if they're big:

this is a policeman carrying a child through the middle of a gun battle in Tijuana in 2008. something about this picture is just riveting, pretty much just how the child doesn't look all that phased considering his surroundings.



this is a picture of a native who resides in a village in Rift Valley, he has an arrow in his head as a result of an 'ethnic clash' involving his village.



most probably the most heartbreaking photo I've seen in a while. a sixteen month old girl reaching for her deceased father at his funeral service following his death serving in Afghanistan.
