Ah ok so you're alot younger than me. You still seem to have gone down the same path though. I liked a bit of Michael Jackson (still do) and maybe just odd songs I would hear on the radio but didn't have much more of an interest in music than that...and all I would hear or listen to was what my sister was playing.

My first memory of music was listening to Roll With It on the radio whilst in the car waiting for my Dad to finish work in town. But yeah you gotta love MJ, I'll still listen to him every now and again.

My sister went through a shower of shit phase, then Blink-182 and then Nirvana. So I still have affection for Blink.. even though if I heard a band like them now I'd have a lot to say about how shit they are. And the best band she introduced me to was Nirvana.

My sister used to leave cassettes strategically placed, apparantly just "lying around." Im sure she did. I didnt have much of an interest in music but what I did listen to was awful. She played a large part in getting me to listen to better music.

How did she know you would've had the inclination to pick it up and play it? Sly what bands did your older sis like?

Im not sure if she did and I didnt notice at the time but on reflection im sure she was trying to guide me away from some terrible 90's chart pop/dance music.

My sister and I dont have the same taste in music but we share alot of similar interests. Ive been to see Rufus Wainwright with her. Some of the stuff shes either helped me get into over the years, ive helped her get into or mutual interests are Oasis, Blur, The Smiths, Damien Rice, Tori Amos, Jeff Buckley, Muse, The Beatles, MJ, Radiohead, Daft Punk, The Verve, Pulp etc.

Well out of those bands I listed, i think my sister was responsible for my first listens to The Beatles, Oasis, Blur and Tori Amos. She also bought me most of my Michael Jackson stuff. She used to buy me pretty much any music I showed interest in when i was little.

I'm so sick of hearing the Beatles. But otherwise your sister did well.
