Theres Beatles tracks I dont like, of course. Its not like I dig every single track. And i much prefer their later output to their earlier material but even with that said I love the Help! record so nah, in general I just love The Beatles.

My sister is 12 years older than me. She was 38 this year and ill be 26 this year.

That makes total sense. Was she really into festivals etc? I would have been all on it back in the day if I were alive then!

Oh cool. Nothing beats local gigs though.

I try to go to local gigs alot. I havent been able to go much over the last few months but I like finding the little, independent venues in and around where I live. Some of which have been there aslong as I have but ive never even noticed them before.

I live between 2 cities and in Newcastle there are lots of smaller venues when you know where they are. One of my favourite venues is actually an Italian restaurant. Its strange watching drone and stoner bands play in a fairly classy restaurant, while you're sat at tables in candlelight but it's a great experience. The acoustic sets ive seen there have been amazing too due to the setting.

That sounds really cool. Recently I went to a pub that has an entire 17 person Irish band playing every week. They were fantastic! But generally when I go to gigs I'm checking out the local drum and bass talent. New Zealand has produced some incredible groups. I'm not sure our rock scene is up to par however.

Dear Diary,
Things I have thus far learnt about New Zealand:

- The triangles on the road mean 'give way.'

- Skinny milk is actually 'trim milk' here.

- New Zealanders don't (playfully) hate England as much as Australians do. They hate Australia instead!

- Melbourne (my home) is actually a lot colder than Auckland. Apparently Melbourne gets colder and more unsettled weather in winter than Auckland but hotter in summer due to being further south and away from the equator. This surprises me, I miss the cold Melbourne weather I don't miss the hot days, though.

- Must add 'aye' to the end of every sentence, and replace 'mate' with 'bro.' (Hey bro, thanks bro.)

Yours truly,
Lateralus.

Dear diary,

I think it's funny how Kate refers to Melbourne as cold. When those temperatures is my summer. I was panting around the 15 degrees celsius mark a few weeks ago...

Yours faithfully,
Kayleigh.

It's cold for me, okay! And the coldest city on Australia's mainland, so that counts for something! I still can't believe our winters are your summer, though. I'm totally jealous.
