Weirdest Or Most Memorable Dreams You've Had

Ronseal.

I had an afternoon nap today and I dreamt that I was in the band Dinosaur JR, and since they got back together there was tension in the air. I was rhythm guitarist. I was having a chat with J. Macis about guitar technique... as you do. But even though I guess the time period was now, and they'd already made 2 albums since getting back together, it was like we were a new band starting out again, so we were trying to book shows.

Weird. Anyone had any memorable dreams they'd care to share?

FETCHER. 07-08-2010 08:28 AM

I dreamt I was heavily pregnant a few weeks ago. It ****ing freaked me out.

Bulldog 07-08-2010 08:56 AM

I never really remember any of my dreams, but I do get the occasional one where I have to spend about 10-15 minutes after waking up ealising that it wasn't real, only to forget them completely about an hour later. Usually happens after a heavy night's boozing.

TheCunningStunt 07-08-2010 08:58 AM

Really? I can remember dreams from when I was 5. I followed a yellow hose pipe with my nana, in Wales.. along a motorway, just to reach a caravan park and there was a witch on the shed waiting.

And another one where the beach had a massive hole in it, y'know like the motorway roundabouts that have a motorway underneath them? I dreamt it was like that, and I fell down it, and the only thing that was stopping me from falling was me holding on to a duvet.

Both from my childhood, how can you not remember?!

FETCHER. 07-08-2010 09:07 AM

I used to have a reoccuring dream all the time. That I fell down the elevator shaft at my grans flat. But I'd never hit the ground before I'd get that awesome jumpy fright thing.

I don't usually dream much, or remember my dreams, even if sometimes what Bulldog mentioned does happen to me, but I get that awesome jumpy fright thing so bloody often!

I just don't spend a lot of time thinking about my childhood - I don't really see much of a point in doing so, unless I wanna cobble together an anecdote or two for the next Christmas dinner or whatever.

mr dave 07-08-2010 09:38 AM

most nights i just sleep (or so i think), to be aware of a dream is a rarity for me but there have been a few over the years that did stick out.

a pair of recurring ones from being really young had a toilet that would swallow the house if it was flushed and another featured my uncle, dead and his eyes being all yellowed and turning to dust when i touched them.

i remember one from when i was in school - piloting a blimp made out of a snicker's bar

had a weird one in college about a different uncle who had died a few years prior. we were on a hunting trip (not something we ever did) killed a deer, but we didn't have a vehicle to bring it back to the truck. so we wrapped it in a blue blanket to avoid getting blood all over ourselves while we carried it over our shoulders, then it started kicking so we let it go and it ran out of the blanket (still clean and blue) fully healed.

apparently noticing or remembering colours in dreams is quite significant but if you really want to get into dream analysis and interpretations then you really need to compile as many details about the dream as soon as you wake up.

I get that feeling every so often as well. Sometimes it's just the feeling of a free-fall, other times it feels like I've crash landed on the ground. I wake up every time that happens.

Lately I've had a recurring dream where I'm racing in the Daytona 500, and I keep winning. It could represent my love of driving or the fact that I've been driving around a lot lately because it's summer.

No. I mean they were dreams I remember from 12 years ago. I remember the night I had them and woke up from them, and I remember them in graphic detail. I don't dream about being a child now.

Scarlett O'Hara 07-08-2010 04:45 PM

I dreamed the other night that I was making out on my bed with another girl, and she put her hand down my pants! The sick part was my parents were there in the room, and they asked her to leave because they knew what she was doing.

TheCunningStunt 07-08-2010 04:47 PM

Good parenting tbf

FETCHER. 07-08-2010 04:48 PM

:laughing: i always find it weird talking to my parents after dreams like that.

Scarlett O'Hara 07-08-2010 04:50 PM

My parents were in my dream though...

FETCHER. 07-08-2010 04:51 PM

Oh duh I just read it wrong. My parents would disown me if I were lesbian. Thankfully for them I'm not.

Apparently that means a new beginning/ new creation or growth in your life. :)

TheCunningStunt 07-08-2010 05:40 PM

Dream analogy is great. Different colours mean different things and all sorts, it's amazing. I wish I knew loads about it.

What does dreaming of something on fire mean?

I wasn't sure so I just looked it up.

It could mean several things. It could be a transformation of something in our life, i.e. the flames burning down barriers that are in the way or getting rid of something.

Or it could be to do with emotions such as anger or rage.

And,

Quote:

Not being able to let it go and letting it build within is usually the dream of fire. Holding a grudge against something or someone could be the result. It could also mean that there is pain or fear in one’s life. Either could stem from relationship issues. Dreaming of fire could also mean that there is a lot of passion in a person’s life: usually sexual passion, not a passion for something. If the fire is large and roaring in the dream it could mean that the passion is very high.

I have a dream log where I write down any dream that I can remember I started aboot a year ago because I forget my dreams fast and cause I'm cool like that. There was one dream I had that I couldn't fully explain with words so I drew a picture. I will share a random one.

Btw this dream is a little disturbing just saying. I don't have any others like this usually just zombies or this girl. I have I think maybe 30 dreams written down

So I'm walking home whille carrying my cat who is named Kat btw. I hear a scream so I look over and there was a little boy maybe 12 years old and a pug. I at first thought they were just having fun and playing together until I noticed the kid was scared out of his little booties, that and the pug draging the boy across the grass. The pug draged him over to a fence and behind a bush were he proceded to eat him. The boy was a goner nothing I could do for him anymore. Kat then jumped out of my arms and headed for the pug whille doing a really cool walk. The pug notices and heads towards him. They then proceed to do battle. The pug bits Kat, Kat scrathes the pug's neck. The pug looks like its done for, hes a goner but then it uses some kind super power for one final martyrdom type attack. It sends Kat flying towards the fence, he hits it and something glows around him for a moment. Only later did I realise that the fence was obviously evil and possesed small animals. The pug is now dead btw. I go over to Kat and half his face is torn off and he can barely stand, I think to myself to put him out of his misery but I just can't bring myself to do it. I go to pick him up and he attacks me, I didn't understand at the time but he was weak to weak to hurt me so I grabbed him and rushed him home. The entire time he is trying to fight me, luckily my house was close by. I am now home and holding him down on my couch. I can feel him getting stronger and I urge my dad to get the kenel and he does. I throw Kat in it and lock it up. When he was pinned against the couch I had him turned around so he couldnt scrath me and so I couldnt really se his face but now that he was in the kenel I could, and it was fully healed. Suddenly theres a knock at my door. I answer and theres no one just a lamenated note, It reads " What have you done with my newest cat, I need him to make my line-up he is number 16" there are also 15 animal teeth lamenated within the note. I hand the note to my dad and then I wake up.

Btw I am horrible with punctuation so don't get mad at me, also I'm not crazy I swear. Ok maybe a little.

In my case, what happens in my dreams happens in real life sometimes. I'll give you an example:

4-5 years ago, I had a dream that my parents in North Carolina would break up and my mom would come to California, with them getting back together again. Then, a year ago, the exact same thing happened. She went to Modesto, and come Easter, they were getting baskets for each other. A case of real life Deja Vu.

Alfred 07-08-2010 09:33 PM

All the dreams where I banged girls have been pretty memorable.

DoctorSoft 07-08-2010 09:40 PM

One I had a dream where(it was one of those dreams that went through several months) I got the ability to see ghosts/spirits when I went to sleep(in my dream). I became a celebrity and I went on Oprah. One night I went to sleep, but didn't see the creature things. When I woke up(still in my dream) something really weird/trippy happened. The best way to describe it is if someone taped a camera to an RC car, drove it around my bedroom, set the camera in black and white, put it in fast-motion, and flicked the lights on and off. Then the "camera/car" drove through the basement of my house, went upstairs and into the kitchen. Then I made myself wake up. That scared the **** out of me for some reason.

glastonelle 07-08-2010 11:57 PM

A while back I dreamt that I was flying over a city - I think it was Seattle, which is weird, cause I've never even been to America, only seen it occasionally on Greys's Anatomy, but anyway - and I was looking down on it. Since it was nightime, lights were on, and they were spelling out the word COME CLOSER. Somehow I flew lower, and the entire city was made of Burberry plaid. Even the people and pidgeons and stuff. Then I realized I was a cat.

Thats about the time I woke up.

Pretty buzzy, dont you think? I just hope my cat managed to swipe a Burberry pidgeon before I left.

Why don't I ever have cool silly dreams?

I never remember them and when I do they're relatively realistic...which sometimes can be rather superb I suppose.

Astronomer 07-09-2010 05:44 AM

I don't remember a lot of my dreams, but I sleep talk at least a few times a week (and that's what I'm aware of from other people telling me, I probably sleep talk when they're not there too...)

The other night I was asleep in my flatmate's bed while he was playing Xbox when I told him in my sleep that I needed pens.

Flatmate: You need pens?
Lateralus: *angry* Not not PENS. I need A PEN! Just one pen.
Flatmate: What do you need a pen for?
Lateralus: The countdown.
Flatmate: What countdown?
Lateralus: The countdown... for the people. The countdown for the people.

I don't remember any of it... really weird. No idea what I was on about. But I talk in my sleep ALL the time. I also do weird things in my sleep, like a few nights ago I got up and threw my doona down the stairs. Then went back to sleep and when I woke up wondering where the hell my doona was.

I wish I could remember my dreams, though! :(

My wife talks in her sleep a lot like that too. The conversations I have with her crack me up because she usually sounds irritated that I have no idea what she's talking about.

haha I talk all the time in my sleep also.

Fixed!

And I also talk and laugh in my sleep, or so people have told me...

One of my cousins is rather impressive that way. Once, me and my other cousin were lying about at 4 AM or something, whilst the aforementioned one was asleep. I happened to ask the time to the one who was awake (naturally) and the sleeping beauty said it was 9 PM.

I was godsmacked for some reason.

I had a fantastic dream the other day...bloody realistic. Can't remember it too well though, just the best bit. I still think it sucks a bit that they're never too bizarre though.

DoctorSoft 07-09-2010 04:06 PM

Does anyone here ever sleepwalk? There are lots of nights where I'll fall asleep on the couch then wake up in my bed, and vice versa, and that's not that bad, it's just a little weird when you wake up. But a few weeks ago, apparently, I went outside, ran around for a bit, came back inside, went downstairs and turned on a movie. Then my mom came downstairs and told me to go to sleep. When I woke up I was covered in puke and didn't remember a thing. My mom told me about what happened the night before and I was like WTF?

Grace_Under_Pressure 07-09-2010 10:00 PM

When I was in High school I kept having this recurring dream that I was Trapped in a big school. And they let Possessed wolves run after me.. then I would get out and run from them with Giant Q-tips in my hands.. I never quite got the meaning of this dream.. But, After I graduated High school they stopped.

and Last week, I had a dream That I was suppose to Perform "Bohemian Rhapsody" to a large Group of people. and All throughout the dream I was rehearsing.. and right when I got up on stage to perform it I woke up..
