I thought, we have a wide range of people on here with a wide range of backgrounds. It gets talk about a lot in lots of threads, usually comments about British humour

our cultures often collide, but we love our respective cultures. But what do we love about them exactly?

As for British culture - I love the post boxes. I love the rows of terrace houses. I love seeing kids playing football, using their jumpers as goal posts. I love double decker buses. I love English pounds sterling. I loved coming home from school and it was dark by 3:30PM, where I'd sit and watch Art Attack. I loved fish finger butties. I love The Office. I love sausage and mash. I love chavs, they're better than the American equivalent (bros I think you call 'em). I love bonfire night. I love folklore, like Robin Hood. I love cups of tea!

So I was wondering, what do you love about your culture?

I love mostly the same things as you. The bright red post boxes and phoneboxes. I love seeing the kids with a wheel barrow boasting about how theyre going to make a "den" in a tree (i used to do this

). I love scottish countryside. I love how I stay at the top of a valley. I love pound notes. I love two pound coins (double nuggets!!). I love scottish slang. I love how sometimes I can't tell whats slang and whats not. I love men in kilts. I love trickrtreating. I love the lead hills. Fish finger buttys are WIN btw, still one of my favourite foods. I love Glasvegas. I love LONDON!! I love Edinburgh and its cobblestone roads. I love Edinburgh Castle. I love my local castle, Craignethan Castle. I still love playing hide and seek in said castle, I am nearly 19. I love how britain has so many accents all completely different and unique. I love how I can tell where in Scotland someone is from, just by speaking to them. I love Scousers and geordies. Can't forget Londoners. I love Rabbie Burns night. I love Auld Land Syne and Loch Lomond (songs). Wait for it... I LOVE HAGGIS AND BAGPIPES!!!!

I feel I belong to a unique group of individuals referred to as "Third Culture Kids". It's basically defined as someone who grew up in a culture different than their own, integrating both the foreign culture and the culture of their birth into a third culture. I grew up in Singapore and to be completely honest, I feel more Asian than I do American. There isn't a whole lot I enjoy about being American, but I'll try to cover both.

As for my southern American side, I enjoy long road trips, the scenic diversity, big cities like Chicago and the pizza in them, the movies we make (though in recent years the majority of movies have sucked), southern hospitality, fried foods, and the blues.

As for my Singaporean side I enjoy the ethnic diversity, the Singaporean accent, Asian food of all kinds, cab rides, the tropical weather, the clean city, little kids running around without parents at 3 in the morning, Tiger beer, a great electronic scene and the clubs to go with them, bootleg dvd's and video games, being close enough to all the countries in southeast asia to be able to travel to them easily, the beach...generally just everything about Singapore is great to me.

Kayleigh & Michael have pretty much covered everything for me there. But I love so much about this place, even though I can moan about it a lot.

CITV was sublime when I was a kid, I'd walk home from primary school with a girl called Dawn who lived a couple of streets with me. I'd usually have my jumper in my hand and my shirt all untucked. Come in and watch CITV, with a plate of smileys, beans and some turkey twizzlers/turkey dinosaurs.. yom. Always used to watch ZZZAP, Bernard's Watch, Art Attack.. yesss. I love full english breakfasts. You've Been Framed. Double decker buses. British music from when I was growing up like The Bluetones, Stereophonics, Suede, David Gray, Oasis, Pulp, Elastica, Blur, The Beautiful South. Alton Towers. British slang. Playing Bulldog in the playground, and off-ground tick. Chavs in Burberry. Tea.
