I don't understand people who are afraid of commitment.

Those people have continually ruined my fucking life.

All I want is the marriage of a lifetime, no kids, no bullshit.

My daughter just turned 21 yesterday. We went out for breakfast, and later on she was going out to eat with her boyfriend and some friends. She wanted me to go too. I felt like the chaperon, and I had to tell her friends (some I'd met, some I hadn't) to quit calling me sir (dammit). It was a bit surreal having a drink with my little girl, which I vowed I wouldn't do, and at one point someone set a Jack and Coke down in front of her. I sipped it, and said "Nope. Thats a bit much kiddo" and she kind of smiled and said "Ok Dad, I won't". I was just looking over these kids she was with the whole time judging them, and glaring as if to say "Don't even think about corrupting my child mutherfuckers". I miss the days of her running up to me after work and wanting to play Polly Pockets, or go for a bike ride, or draw some pictures, or all the things little people do. She's not a little people anymore. I guess I have to just let go now.

It's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

I assume eventually everyone gets tired of having to adjust their entire life over and over again after being fucked over by someone who led them on.

I've been pretty lucky the past few years (finally).

Just roll with it.

Some of my dearest friends now are people I've met through my daughter.

Fixed.

It's a tough transition but you're a seemingly cool guy, I'm sure now you will get to have a ton of fun with her in a different kind of way. I had one friend who's parents used to drink with us on and it was a lot of fun. There aren't too many things more fun than getting cool parents wasted.

Well, thats one perspective. I like to keep things on a healthier level though. We still have fun all the time, it's just a realization I need to start dealing with.

I guess that's the thing. I don't really get very attached to people. like it doesn't take me long to get over a breakup or rejection or whatever. this girl I was seeing for a bit in like October decided she actually had a thing for one of her good friends instead and it took me maybe an hour to get over it.

I like this current girl, but if she told me right now that she never wanted to see me again id be like dang ok then. and then id be on my way.

i only ever got attached to one chick and then after that it seems like i became sort of disillusioned with the idea of monogamy in general. now i feel like honestly all i really want is a relatively consistent **** buddy who is hot but still smart enough to challenge me once in a while and who doesn't get possessive at all and doesn't expect me to either. seems like a pipe dream at this point lol these southern women all have morals
