I've honestly never noticed a difference between left and right socks.

I do something similar.
I don't wash my underpants so when I put them on I always know the skidmark goes to the back.

Yes. The fumes burn my eyes if I don't.

I don't buy shapely socks. They basically have a front seam on top, and a slight heel. Both of my feet have heels. It works out well.
