I never went to school mama....We didn't trust vaccines because the man puts control juice in the vaccine.

The chemo is destroying her immune system while effectively destroying the malformed cells that are making her sick; the steroids are lessening the inflammation caused by Reynaud's.

Despite the fact that her immune system is compromised, she still takes her medicine and trusts that a medical professional is doing all they can do to make her well again. Did she still get vaccinated as a child? Yes, of course.

Just because you think your kid is some kind of ~special snowflake~ doesn't mean you have any right to open a bigass can of infectious disease on humanity after we've spent hundreds of years finding medical solutions to these deadly ailments.

Unless you have specific advice from a pediatrician. Even in that case, I would get a second opinion (not sure why someone would go to their neurologist for this type of thing, it's like visiting a windshield repairman to ask if you should change your spark plugs).

There would have to be some kind of stand-in treatment or alternative protection in extreme cases (whatever they may be - I'm not a medical professional, nor do I know much about biology - but I can tell you a lot about things relating to psychiatric issues) but like you said, why is their neurologist giving advice on how to treat an autoimmune condition?

I can see if it's something else relating to the brain (encephalitis, maybe?) or spinal cord/nervous system but something just doesn't add up here.

Time to walk it back a bit.

I am 1000% for vaccines. If you don't have your kids get them you are a loser and I hate you. Jenny McCarthy will burn in hell.

Both my kids got them all. Everything.

If one of our doctors back then had said, "let's think about this for minute", I would have.

I just think we owe Chelsea the benefit of the doubt to tell the whole story before burnings at the stake.

Hopefully the story's a little something like this:

@Chula No. I'm not going to look through your family's medical history before I slap you on the nose :D for anti-vaxxer rhetoric. From what I've seen, a specialist (see my car analogy) said 'ja maybe it's not right' and she goes off of that?:D I'm not taking anything less :D than specific instruction from a pediatrician. How many times do I have to get this point across? Ffs dude you can't be that thick.:D

Herd immunity is the alternative for those extreme cases. Everyone who can gets vaccinated to make sure that they aren't symptomless carriers who could infect people who either can't get the vaccine or those who the vaccine didn't take on (there is a slight margin of error with vaccines, they're not infallible). That's why the ideological stance against vaccinating kids without any medical justification is so dangerous. It's also why I'm so militant on the subject, regardless of whether or not I make a parent cry.:D

Stop being so dramatic. I'm talking about a single individual on this forum who's getting unfairly ganged up on IMO.

Herd smerd.

You're the one being dramatic. I stand by what I said. Peoples opinions and feelings don't mean **** in this situation. :D

Also **** off with that herd smerd business, it saves more lives than dancing around people's emotions. :D
