Awkward social situations

also, when someone asks about a gig or festival you're going to and asks who the band is/who's playing and they're the type of person you assume won't know the band.

"errrrm, well, erm, you might not really know them to be honest, they're quite small". i said these exact words the other day to a guy in work after he asked me about the ATP i'm going to in december (and it was about belle and sebastian, hardly SMALL, and they're the biggest band on the line up given they're curating it but i had no idea what else to say)

I always find it to be really awkward when I'm talking with someone I've just met about music, and I mention some bands and they tell me that we have the exact same musical taste, and I'm really digging the convo...then they say, "OH! Since we like the same music, you must be really into like, Nickelback, Avenged Sevenfold, MCR, etc..." and I'm just like, "..."

And when you are over a friend or relatives house, and they bring someone over who you don't know, and have nothing to talk about. The thing that always seems to happen is that your friend leaves you in the room alone with them, leading to an awkward silence, followed by a sigh. And all you do is look around like dumbasses, ****ing hate that.
