Yeah! I finished my studies and qualified not long ago and got a job and all that stuff hence why I'm not on here much anymore...

And yeah it's really awkward. One of the male teachers adjacent to my room got called "daddy" the other day and I heard him mutter, "God, I hope not..." haha.

Was at a 7-11 a while back in a weird part of town at around 1:00 AM when a van full of midgets/little people arrived, two of whom had noticeable physical deformities (other than being unusually short of course). They then preceded to buy a bunch of porn while talking about oral sex in an intentionally overt manner. I was the only other person in the store and was forced to wait behind them while they made their purchases.

^ That reminds me of a horribly awkward story from when I worked in fast food.

This girl came into the fast food restaurant I worked at with her friends. She was in a wheelchair and had no arms and no legs. None. They ordered their food, her friends ordering fountain drinks with their meal, and her ordering a milkshake.

I made the milkshake, and turned around to notice that her friends were at the soda machine getting their drinks and such. The girl with no arms or legs was still at the counter, and I was holding her milkshake in my hand, so I panicked.

My mind was racing. I was thinking, Should I put a straw in it and hold it up for her to take a drink? I can't hand it to her, shoot...should I just leave it awkwardly on the counter in front of her? She's right beside my register, so I can't very well just put it down and walk away.

She was staring me down. I stood there, frozen, looked at her friends who were still at the soda machine. I opted finally to just put it down on the counter with a straw beside it, what I decided would be the appropriate action, but I felt so extremely awkward.

That is definitely worse than mine. I just had to keep my distance and ignore the little ****ers, you actually had to interact with the person.

I would have just asked her where she wanted it.

When a really old woman tells you to walk in front of her and you do and then you hear her tell the person next to her that you have a nice ass......

I know I really should have done that! I just turned around, her friends were at the soda machine, and she was staring me down completely stone faced. I panicked.

I dunno... Leaving it on the counter is pretty much the only thing you could do at that point. I mean... you could have tossed it onto her lap... which would have probably gotten you fired. Or you could have asked her where she wanted you to put it, which would have probably resulted in a snarky remark about not having appendages and whether you see that there's a cup holder on her wheel chair or not. And feeding her pretty much wouldn't be in your job description at all, hopefully.

Heh.. maybe it's the fact that I've been exposed to a lot of cliche' about people with disabilities, but I wonder if it would have been a good idea to just hold the drink out to her expectantly and pretend you didn't even notice she didn't have arms and legs. That might have been PC even.
