No, it's definitely not an American thing. I've never heard of anyone having that before.

Neither have I. Well, in some student houses. But that's a different thing I guess.
I don't think I'd stand it if someone came and checked my house every ****ing month.
It's my place. Now go away.

Likewise. For instance, 90 percent of my music studio is in storage at the moment because I live in apartments and can't use any of it anyway... so in my room I have a bed, 2 end tables with lamps, a workout bench with weights that haven't moved in ages, and a glass L-shaped desk with a small fraction of gear on top and underneath.
I'd like to put stuff on the walls, but I spent too much money on crap for my living room and while it looks sweet, I don't even freakin' use it.

Really?
Weird. When I first got this place I was wondering about the inspection thing too, so I did some Googling and apparently a lot of people have them in some form or another. But like I said in the last page, it's not so much an inspection as it is a "if ya shit is ****ed up, you'll get reported on by the monthly maintenance guys".

I just don't like how they come in regardless of whether you're home or not. They have keys, and they use them.

90% of your music studio looks like it's composed of different versions of reel-to-reels. I wouldn't worry about us not being able to imagine what it would look like in its full glory.

Yeah, man that's weird. In no part of the country I've ever lived in have I ever even heard of that.

Ghehe, DAT, Minidisc, cassette, soundcraft mixer, big deal of computers with ESI Soundcards, DBX units, my beautiful SL-1200, some tannoys. It's not just tapedecks connected to some old crap. It's very wel looked after like-new tapedecks connected to some high end audio. There's a difference.
It still looks like old crap though
