I've been tempted to read his autobiography, "An Unseemly Man: My Life as Pornographer, Pundit, and Social Outcast," for quite some time but haven't gotten around to it.

Goddamn if you didn’t know exactly what a vagina looked like after reading a Hustler.

I'm sorry that anyone has passed away - but I hate that cover.

No doubt it’s brutal. The first time I saw it it was being displayed by a group of radical feminists in NYC who were trying to get other women fired up.

I can see why that photo would fire up any woman (and many men), whether or not they are radical feminists. I don't know the backstory, but I'm sure it increased sales for the magazine (unfortunately). :eek:

The point was he wasn’t going to capitulate. He didn’t hate women. If he just put that on the cover out of the blue that would’ve been one thing but the argument that he treated women like a “piece of meat” was thrown at him incessantly so finally he said satirically if that’s the case it’s still my right. He was the ultimate “If loving pussy is wrong I don’t wanna be right!”

I know that was his point - it's obvious given the quote on the cover - but I still think he was full of b.s. Offending in plain sight while being all *satirical* and pretending not to offend.

Fair enough.

I doubt we’ll ever be on exactly the same “page” however. Pretty sure I was more likely his target demographic.
