I'd just like to see him pit his kids against one another for his approval. There's no way he doesn't do that.

A very musico-cultural savvy friend just introduced me to the world of Mort Sahl at an event a few nights ago. He had watched a documentary film about him and read his biography and highly recommended it, saying that Sahl really paved the way for revolutionary comics like Carlin and Pryor. Less than two days later I caught the news that he'd passed away. Slate published a decent write-up on him.

I just sold an OG copy of East! Probably should have brought that one home. I was on the fence about it. Shame. Consciousness is a f*ckin' banger of a record.
