A guy I work with killed himself on Wednesday. He wasn't a person I knew well—I only ever had one direct conversation with him—but I did see him every day and we sat near each other. I don't know what was going on with him to make him do that but it's really fucking sad. Very sad.

I would have put that in a 9th Wonder thread but shockingly we don't have one.

That's bloody awful. There is a serious undercurrent of men who kill themselves and it's not be paid attention to. I think it's hard for men to reach out and release their feelings because there is still a stigma attached to being depressed or having a mental illness.

I'd like to say R.I.P to Gangstarr or Guru, a genius MC.

56 is always too young.....and who would have thought that she help Front 242 get off the ground

I wonder how Deborah and Natalie feel about it, if it actually matters to them that is.

Obviously sad when a guy turns up in this thread, but at least Paul Horn must`ve reached a decent age; the two children in that old-timey documentary must`ve become adults long ago. What an interesting glimpse it provides of a jazz musician - and of how the media reports on a jazz musician.

I used to have this Paul Horn album, but never worked out what the instrument coming in at 1:45 might be. Is that PH too?:-

Thanks, rostasi. My admiration of Paul Horn cranks up a notch.

One day I`m going to ask a music question that you don`t know the answer to - though I don`t see that day coming anytime soon...
