I say people should accept what these words are also used for and not be so sensitive. If you spend your entire life trying to be politically correct about every thing especially words out of someone elses mouth then its your loss. Im sure someone will say or think horribly of what I have said but frankly I dont concern myself with it. If you cant be a realistic human being about it then your loss. Im jewish, when someone got cheated out of somehting and says
i got jewed out of that" or something of that sort I dont get mad. Its not an attack on my religion or me, its just a term ingrained in society usually used jokingly.

(when I say you I do not mean yourself Pete, just as a general You to the masses)

Amen. I think people are way too sensitive about words. I really have no issue with people saying things are "gay" around me, because I know it's not meant as a slur. There's a distinct difference between just saying, "I have to go to work at 6AM. Gay," and saying, "I hate gay people because I'm a homophobe!" Not that I've ever in my life heard anyone ACTUALLY say the latter. But you get the gist.

homophobia is sorta accepted here because of the religious climate

I live in the Bible Belt, but people here are, for the most part, way more tolerant than television would have you think.

And when I say Bible Belt, I mean Bible Belt. There are about 22,000 people in my city, and literally dozens of churches. Predominately Southern Baptist, of course.

When passing the bridge to go into Ohio and hitting downtown, you will be greeted by five churches on the street in the first three blocks you walk.

It's pretty much "Live and let live" here, though.

^^believe me, it's much worse here

homosexuality is a crime

If people were less judgemental and more respectful towards others regardless of your individuality/situation/beliefs/ in this world, there would be less worldly issues and more love and tolerance between all people (including this thread lol).

Far out, this was about giving advice and support to someone who needed it. Personally I don't understand how being a dick makes you feel good. And how you think it makes you godly and attractive to other people. It's easier to be genuinely caring and helpful, and to some people's suprise, it might actually make you feel good about yourself and as an individual, and for doing/saying something postive for someone else! That alone is enough to contribute to making the world a better place.

Whatever you decide do Salami, good luck. But honestly, honesty is the best policy.

I've attempted to have several "walki-ins" to fulfill some perverted fantasy of mine in my early years. Ridiculously stupid path for me to traverse.

Well, I haven't done anything to attract those of the opposite sex, but I have been incredibly sarcastic and made a lot of lame jokes towards a guy I had a significant crush on in high school. He thought it was funny at first, but I could tell that, over time, it grew tiresome with him...

Felt incredibly embarrassed and maintained very little communication with him for about a week or two.

I feel like I become obsessed with every new girl I meet. I know its just a temporary infatuation but it happens every time. Until Im with them I feel it then it goes away.

I know how you feel. It's like a "I feel like this girl is perfect for me" sort of feeling. It could also be a result of being lonely and just really wanting companionship with someone else.
