Is that Love Ox on the right?

Howard the Duck 02-03-2012 05:50 AM

the main reason for picking up the guitar when i was young was that i thought i could serenade girls into being in love with me

i have found far more utilitarian purposes for the guitar since then.....

I like how the first part of your post made me sad, but then the last half made me happy again.

In the supermarket, an attractive came down the aisle, and I cowered behind the condiments.

First post.

Did pretty good in my teens. One chick asked me to dance with her at a school dance once. I did lose my virginity at 19 so I know I am somewhat attractive...

However in my 20s I became absolutely petrified of rejection, so instead of asking out women who were actually available I would instead ask out women that already had boy-friends so I could then rationalize 'Hey she wasn't rejecting me, she already has a boy-friend'.

For instance when I was working at some fast-food joint just out of school I bought flowers for one of the pretty brunette cashier girls even though she already had a boy-friend.

Another time I bought tickets to a concert for me and another cute dish-water blonde chick I had a real big crush on, even though she already had a boy-friend.

i dunno, it works the other way for me

i would hit on attractive women who would often tell me they had boyfriends, when i thought they were single

i had a huge ego

Bought jewelry for a girl I hardly knew who already said a week previously that I wasn't her type and laughed at the idea of dating me.

Then never spoke to her again! Literally ignored her! My master plan to get her to fall in love with me! :whythis: Waited for her christmas eve after college just to see her at the bus stop. She didn't show up.

It was cool though cos instead I bought a 6 pack of beers and split it with these 2 dudes who were off their head on pills. And they were shocked at me sitting there drinking beer 100 metres away from my college while one of them was taking a slash up the bus stop and the other one was dancing like a chimp or something. Hilarious.

In grade 7 I once mimicked everything a girl did for half an entire year during art class. I can't even understand why I did it looking back hahaha

Howard the Duck 02-09-2012 09:20 PM

i remember being in kindergarten at 6 or so

and i had the hots for this girl so i wrote notes like "Kiss Me" and "Love You" in the pockets of my uniform, intending to show them to her, if opportunity arises

however, my mother discovered them and gave me a proper earful then inquired what they're for - i never proferred a satisfactory explanation
