It's a concave surface, where our brain is trained to think in terms of faces being convex. There's a better video out there that shows this, but all I could find was this kid:

Yeah I realised it said at the end. And also on the article. I tend to rush and skip things sometimes.

Anyway for what it's worth it wasn't what I had in mind. I was thinking more like those advertisements you see on sporting pitches where they are laid out at such an angle that from the view of the TV cameras it looks like they're stood up on the pitch.

Yeah. Attempted to see the whole process in a concave way to pick up on it but didn't work very well...
