Suicide by car in garage?

I'm sure you've heard of this suicide method, by one shutting their garage door, starting up the car, rolling down the windows, and slowly becoming unconscious. Many say it's a painless and peaceful death for the most part, but others say that with newer cars, you won't die because they don't let out as much CO as older models. What about a 04' Toyota Corolla in a two car garage? How long would it take for you to become unconscious? How long until you died? Painless? Your thoughts on this

Blarobbarg 05-03-2012 03:45 PM

Don't kill yourself! Please get help!

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-03-2012 03:46 PM

Just tie a rope around your neck, tie the other end around a lamppost & floor the accelerator.

Problem solved.

VanLeon 05-03-2012 03:46 PM

I'm not suicidal! Just was discussing this topic today and was curious

Paedantic Basterd 05-03-2012 03:49 PM

No. You could brain damage yourself though, and that's just creating more problems, for you and everyone you love.

You need help. Please get it.

Pretty specific query for someone who's just looking to make light discussion.

Here is a better suicide plan than that my dear. You don't even need a Toyota.
  • Find a two story building that lines a busy street. Go to the roof.
  • String piano wire tight across the front near the ledge. String it about neck level.
  • Get some rope and tie one end to the building and another to your feet. Make sure the length of rope is long enough to suspend you over the edge but short enough so you don't hit the ground.
  • Put some super glue on your hands.
  • Put your arms around the front of the wire and back towards your head. Put you hands on your head.
  • Lean forward so that the piano wire cuts your neck but not your forearms.
  • When the cord goes taut you'll be hanging upside down over the sidewalk with you head outstretched in your arms thanks to gravity and the superglue.
  • Blood will spew everywhere. People will be traumatized for life.

Profit.

The proper way to do it is to use a garden hose, attach it to the exhaust and then put the other end into the car and wind all the windows up. It is much quicker that way, and wont affect the other people trying to park in the garage without also dying

Well until the dumbass pulls the car door open and tries to resuscitate the person and dies the same fateful death.

Yes, that was my other question! Would it seep into the home and kill anyone in there? I did not know a hose could be put on the exhaust

Paedantic Basterd 05-03-2012 04:54 PM

Telling you all you're gonna do is crap your pants and wind up a dribbling vegetable.

Goofle 05-03-2012 04:59 PM

Suicide in a garage probably wouldn't make my Top 10 Ways To Be Awesome At Suicide And Ting list, but there's a certain charm that comes with using blu-tack to stick down the electric window (a la Playstation cheat) whilst you hang gurgling for a few hours.

Leave the radio on, it would get boring.

VanLeon 05-03-2012 06:36 PM

No but seriously guys, how long would it take?

I was just wondering about the car, and how painless it actually was. As opposed to a gun

Painless? In the car? In the garage?

Think about the mom who carried you in her belly for the better part of the year before squeezing your body out of her vagina.

Think of how she fed you and cleaned you as a baby.

Think of how she provided you with an ability to think and express yourself (like you're doing now).

Now think about her opening the garage and having to deal with finding her baby's body in her car.

Think about how she'll never be able to smile without holding back tears when she see other children playing and laughing because she won't ever be able to get the image of your selfishness out of her head while memories of better times are shattered against your final horror.

How about that? How about you try growing up enough to honestly think about someone besides yourself?

is it selfish to determine your own fate and not be led like sheep by non-sensical morality? i know i'm not living my life for anyone else's benefit, and if you think that any parent that in good conscience brings a child into this world isn't selfish i can't say you're anything but delusional. after all, no one asks to be born. i just don't see how people so fervently defend and value the "sanctity of life" when it is, in essence, consumption and destruction.

ahh yes SHEEP. If that's not the philosophical equivalent to simply dropping F*CK YOU! in a debate I don't know what is.

How is it not the epitome of selfishness to determine your own fate?

That's also a rather myopic perspective on life if you can't see it besides the physical consumption and destruction necessary to power our bodies.

You're right though, no one asks to be born, the challenge is accepting that you have been and in turn growing into something greater than the sum of your parts. That, or you can let your ego neuter your development and keep you firmly rooted in mental adolescence for as long as possible.
