It's an unconscious habit for the most part. (When one grows up poor and then is suddenly catapulted into middle class as a kid, you tend to want to mask any accent/trait that reveals your true ragamuffin nature.) It still comes out if I'm very tired, irritated or drunk.

I'm kinda the opposite. I'm from a middle class family but have grabbed the scrub life by the balls, and while I work mainly with poor black people, it's still encouraged me to foster that little bit of Southern accent I already had (mostly in a jokey manner) and I think I'm developing a real accent. It's off and on though.

I love southern accents in others (non-Texan ones) just not when it comes to my own voice. Of course it's still impossible to stop saying things like y'all and y'all'dve etc. (And if I'm drinking or arguing it's all over.) Southerners are amazing at finding new and creative ways to butcher the english language even more than it already is. But yeah, your accent sounded pretty neutral in your streams at least.

Yeah they expire after a few months.

No force required. You want it, you got it. But it'll take a little while as the only recording device I have that I can attach to my PC is my phone, and I don't know what format the files are created in. Should get it done by tomorrow though. Be warned, my voice ain't pretty (like the rest of me)...
