Default Beauty Life-Hacks

I know a lot of beauty life hacks. I know this really doesn't have anything to do with music so if nobody's interested, just use your special powers and close the thread. I do think I could teach you guys a few things (not that you're ugly or anything. Well, not all of you. lol.)

Growing out your hair
Over the course of my high school career, I went from short brown highlighted hair (cringe), to a black shoulder length bob (cringe), to blonde and fried, to pink and fried, to healthy blonde that's a few inches from my goal length of the bottom of my ribcage. Growing my hair out and keeping it healthy was a very long process and I'm not done yet but I did learn a lot of things.
  • Take vitamins. A multivitamin along with biotin or biosil makes your new hair growing in a lot healthier than it would be otherwise. Biosil did make my new hair healthy and pretty but it also gave me a more armpit and moustache hair than I was used to so be wary of that. DO NOT abuse prenatal vitamins like I did. I don't mean to be crude but you will get constipated and you will hate yourself for it.
  • Baby your hair like it's the most valuable thing in the world. I have learned never to put any weight on my hair anymore. When I lean up against something, I gather all my hair to the front, I pull it back so I don't put any weight on it when I'm sleeping, and I don't let it snag on anything at all. I even get scared when I pull it into a ponytail because if it's too tight, strands come out. Hair is just dead body tissue and if you heat style it or color it, it will be damaged so you'll have to take extra special care with it and be patient.
  • DO NOT GO TO BED WITH WET HAIR. Don't do it, this was my problem for years and years and years. I know wet hair isn't the best look for day but I've trained my hair so that I only have to wash it twice a week. Anyway, if you get a chignon holder or can put your hair in a bun or a braid for day, it takes some of the fug out of going out with wet hair. I bought something from etsy called a Bendy Wand and although I can't find it right now (goddamn messy room), it was the perfect thing to put my hair up in when it was wet and I had to leave the house like a human being. Even putting it into a ponytail and clipping it up makes you look polished and the waves that it comes out in are pretty.
  • If you have really unhealthy hair, hair that you style every day, or bleached hair like me then you should invest in better hair products. I buy organic shampoo, conditioner, and heat protecter from the health food store or from a local beauty school that makes organic stuff. "Okay Tumor, you rich bitch, I have bills to pay. Telephone bills, automo' bills….BILLS!", Well, I'm not really a rich bitch, I just play one on TV. I had to budget out my money to buy better hair stuff. I don't smoke and boys buy all my drinks (lol probably because I have such beautiful hair) so my main money suck was chai lattes. I wanted long, beautiful hair so badly that I quit buying fancy drinks cold turkey and learned to make tea at home. That's how I fund my conditioner habit.
  • Get a no-tangle brush. Just go onto Amazon.com and search no-tangle brush. DO NOT buy them from Michael Mercier or whatever it's called, the one that advertises on TV. It's a scam and they signed me up for some weird coupon thing and they were going to charge me for it. I had to call them 20 times to get them to cancel my order, just buy it on amazon. Mine is the macadamia oil one, it's green and brown and sort of ugly but it detangles my hair better than anything. I would buy this brush again 100 times over. It will glide the tangles out of your hair so slickly and easily. You will not regret buying this brush I promise.
  • When you condition your hair, comb the conditioner through with a wide toothed comb. After you rinse the conditioner out, rinse the comb and get out the tangles. After that, I gently give my hair a going over with my No-Tangle brush (most brushes are terrible for wet hair but I consider this one an exception.) If I blow dry my hair, I use heat protecter.

I can't think of anything else right now. If this sounds like too much work then idk what to tell you, buy a wig.

Which no tangle brush do you have? I've been looking for a good one.

how did I miss this thread earlier?

I have a question.

Is it really better to wash your face with cold water? Also I need something different than the grapefruit Neutrogena that I'm using. It's finally working after using it for two weeks but I don't know. Also, do you think I should bother exfoliating?
