Ipods are ok but itunes sucks balls and the idea that you can't get music onto the thing without using itunes pisses me off. I use a Zen X-Fi and recently resurrected by old Zen Vision:M. I can also now use my Samsung Galaxy S4 if I'm stuck. I can't understand how anyone could restrict their player in such a way. What? Have Apple never heard of drag-and-drop??

I think you can get music onto your iPod using Foobar2000, at least that's what I've heard. Anyway, I don't have any major issues with iTunes. It's annoyed me a couple of times, but in general I'm happy.

Yeah but with Creative you just find the folder, drag it to your device and copy. Done and done. No messing. I ****ing hate itunes. Add folder, update, find album, synch, transfer, repeat. **** that.

I've used a Creative before, and I agree, it's much easier to just copy without having to use a program constantly screaming to be updated. Anyway, you don't have to sync your iPod before adding music. I use the manual editing option.

I tried it and yes, it works just fine.

iTunes has always had a simple drag and drop function with Apple devices (iPod, iPhone) but it's not necessarily so easy without them. More on topic, I don't ever see myself getting another iPod or any other standalone MP3 player. Just get a phone with a good amount of memory.

I couldn't live without my Classic. An essential.

Can someone explain how that works? I've tried it before and it never did. If it does it would go a long way to making me rethink the ipod...

edit: sorry, I thought you were asking about the iPod Classic. All Apple products work really smoothly with iTunes. Non-apple products often need some kind of 3rd party software to enable drag and drop. That software often doesn't work, or costs money, or both, depending on your device. |
