Default Places you love & don't get to often enough

The Saturday Six Pack thread gave me the idea that this would be a good thread idea. I will start with my favorite tiny town on an exquisite little stretch of Pacific coast, Cannon Beach, OR.

First of all, the town itself is just a lovely, lovely little place

The beach itself is also resplendent, but what separates it from other beaches is monolithic Haystack Rock, especially at low tide

Then there's spectacular vistas at nearby Ecola State Park

I really really miss that place. It is one of the few consistently pleasant memories of my youth.

Your turn...

I used to live in (well ten minutes away from) Yosemite as a kid. I haven't been since I moved away when I was 14 and I really miss it.

I think i mentioned it somewhere else here but i currently live about an hour away from this lake and have never been..

I have however been to the mountains (Banff) near Lake Louise but only once so far this year

its the best. love hiking up mountains.

This is the mountain we scrambled up last year. It was amazing (though we ran out of water a quarter of the way through the hike ://)

there was this valley to the left of that pic (i didnt take the pic ps but it's the same mountain; the little snow patch is where we slid down actually) that was just enclosed by mountains and forest all around it. It was awesome. damn now i need to go camping haha
