I don't feel bad for cultures that choose not to adopt modern technology, in many ways I actually envy them, and I hope they don't feel bad for us either. It's just a different approach to life, and it's no worse than all the f*cked up things that happen here.

How about cultures that don't even have a choice?

Life sucks.

Then you die.

Enjoy the f*cking ride while you're here.

And have some empathy along the way.

I think it's more complicated than choosing not to adopt modern technology. It's like saying poor people choose to continue being poor. There's an element of truth to the statement but there's far more at play than 'choice'. It's not like the kid in that picture was offered a microwave and hot pockets or a short life of pain and starvation and then said "Yeah, why I don't I just go ahead and do that second thing."

Can you give me an example? Just because that life sucks in your eyes doesn't mean it's sh*t to them. First world countries do this thing where they feel sorry and/or look down at people who aren't as "privileged" as they are. Until you understand how those people feel about their own existence you have no ground to speak on their behalf.

The more we breed
The more we breed
The more in need

I don't need to starve and get pecked at by a vulture on my way out to know it's not a rewarding existence.

Agreed. It's all relative. To a degree. There are conditions that transcend the lines.

I'm not denying there are some places that do want a better life but there are also a lot of "primitive" cultures that live life to the fullest. They generally do not live as long but quality > quantity.

yep, that's true and that's the positive spin on it. but basically when you're playing god unless you're intervening constantly to fix **** it's not so easy to devise a system where life evolves without enormous amounts of arbitrary suffering. i really challenge you to do so if you think otherwise.
